Most likely you have a bad fan,did you have a storm or lighting strike or power drop / outage .
These type of things can cause trouble with a weak electrical part - not know the age of the Unit - you claim it happen in the middle of the night - if the fan Humms and cut outit could be a cap. that helps you fan start - but the fan is damaged if it tryed to start time and time again . Call service if the unit is worth it .

Repaced fan motor, capacitor, contactor still fan not working.

press the contactor in using a wooden pencil does it come on? if so then you are not getting a control signal from the tstat or a low pressure (low freon switch) is open stopping the contactor from pulling in

Kenmore Plasmaire air conditioner causes braker to throw each time it plugs in. did this suddenly after working well for months.

there has to be to much on that curcuit to run a/c. the best thing to do is have it on its own curcuit or on a curcuit where the amperage load is lighter. good-day !! this may have happened because when new, it did not draw to many amps.but with continuous use it wears on the motor etc. and is taking more amperage to run it. when I got my a/c about 4 years ago, I put it on its own curcuit. no problems yet! good-day !

This is a sears kenmore plasmaire. just stopped running. electric sockets are fine. could this be the switch or the cord?

If it is a 240volt air cond. be sure to reset both circuit breakers. They will be side by side and may be joined together

If it is a j120 volt unit, it will be on a single breaker, make sure you don't have a lot of other lights, etc. on the same circuit or the breaker will get hot and trip continually.

Only other thing I can think of for you is make sure the unit thermostat is not turned up to a temp higher than the inside temp. Hope any or all of this helps you. Mark

My maytag m7y12f2a stopped working is their any reset buttons

All devices that have circuit boards or digital displays need a surge protector or turn off during storms. If none of the functions or dispays don't come up, there may be an inline fuse on the panel. More than likely the board or transformer is fried. For that you need a Tech.
