Question about Western Digital My Book Essential Edition (WDG1U5000N) 500 GB Hard Drive
Hi all...i got a weird problem with my 320gb book..when i connect it to a usb, windows doesn't recognises it,instead i get a ''found a usb device '' message and it asks me to install the drivers for this device..which don't exist.
the last time i used it was a week ago and it worked fine
Help pls!thnx in advance!
There are drivers available for your book on the WD website...They are meant to be used with win98...If you're using XP the drivers it's asking for isn't for the book but probably the USB hub...
Things you could do by order of priority:
1) Re-install the driver for USB hub
2) Install those 98 drivers (won't do any harm)
2) Repair Win XP
3) Re- format your PC (I know it's extreme...but as a last resort you may want to consider it)
Good luck !
