Linksys WRT300n will only allow local access wirelessly

My wrt300n will only allow local wireless access (no internet) to my formerly wired desktop computer. I have connected many other devices wirelessly (DVR, Wii, iPod Touch, laptop) and never had this problem.

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wirelesssettings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also thewireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with theserouter's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicatewith your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.

Local access only

hmmm... with those settings, the Vista machine SHOULD be working...

when you open internet explorer on the vista machine, can you go to tools, internet options, and then the connections tab?

along the bottom there should be an option for lan settings. click on that, and then make certain that 'automatically detect settings' is checked, and that everything else is blank.

then restart internet explorer.

what sort of error message do you get now, if you try to go to, say, www.cnn.com?

Configure WRT300N wireless Router to connect internet using PPPoE

Often the nets and subnets are NOT the same.. ie The Fixed connection often uses 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, however sometimes the wifi is setup 10.1.1.1, or 10.0.0.1 etc, have you checked this? Esentially tho ya router is an "Acess Point" and ya Lappy etc is ya "Client" the links below has a lot of tutorials to help have a look. http://portforward.com/routers.htm http://portforward.com/guides.htm
