How to finalize dvd on lite on recorder w/o remote

You have somehow configured the remote to control another DVD recorder, this is useful if you have multiple recorders you want to control with a seperate remote for each one.

To set it back to Remote DVD 1, hold the enter button in the centre of the remote along with the number 1 for 5 seconds.
Hopefully now it will control your recorder properly.

You can stop the recorder by pressing power button to standby mode. Don't unplug the power from the electric source.

Press {GUIDER} on remote, arrow up or down to {FINALIZE} and press enter. Finalization will begin. When done, select {EXIT} press enter.

Yes you can't finalize without a remote.These units use a RM 51 remote.You can find one ebay or you can get a new one at Litetrekinternational.

Are you using a DVD+RW disk? Unlike DVD-R, DVD+R and DVD-RW disks you cannot finalize DVD+RW disks on the Magnavox MWR10D6 DVD Recorder. Instead you have to make the disk compatable [Make Edits Compatible], this allows you to close the disk and play it on other DVD players.

go to: Setup ==> Edit Disk ==> Make Edits Compatible ==> Yes

Other than this nothing else comes to mind to troubleshoot this problem. Hope this helps.

I have a liteon DVD recorder (1105) and I had the same problems......Exactly like yours.

So I opened the recorder and guess what??????? The light ray that burns the DVD was not moving.....I cleaned that thing that holds the light ray, so that it can move while burning and finalising.
The recorder is out of warranty any, so open it up clean it out.
