Question about Gaggia Titanium Espresso Machine

1 Answer

I'm so convinced I've lost a part perhaps someone can tell me I'm wrong . The part is a collar/washer that sits on the back of the s.steel strainer that you remove during cleaning of the brew unit .So essentially when you've unwound the plastic bolt that retains the strainer when the strainer drops down into your hand sometimes the collar drops down as well & sometimes it remains in it's holding -so have I lost it or just my senses ? Many thanks ,Dublin. Coffee machine is Gaggia Titanium

HI
There is a piece under the strainer, but you don't need it if you remember that the plastic bolt is called a thumb screw. When you tighten the thumb screw, you do it finger tight and you won't have any problems. The strainer just needs to be flush with the brew head so nothing will get under it. If you can't feel the edge of the strainer when you slide your finger across the brew head it is plenty tight. The piece you lost is to prevent people from over tightening the thumb screw with the wrench which you are not suppose to use to tighten the thumb screw.

I can't say you perhaps lost contact with the net, because you were able to post this question. Because you did not tell us, what mail service you were using, I have to answer globally. Perhaps your mail server was temporary of line. Perhaps someone tried to hack your account. Just try again, and eventually make contact with your mail provider to ask what was wrong. Perhaps in a few hours you can work again. Consider a taking a stronger password for the account.

While using the hammer drill the chuck came off and I cannot get it back on.

Wipe the spindle off and in the back side of the chuck. The back collar is spring loaded and should move freely, if not I would use some lubricating fluid until the collar moves, with that said when you reinstall pull on the back collar to release the locking steel balls and push on spindle then release the collar and turn it until you feel the steel balls click into the indents on the spindle. Let me know if you need more assistance.

The rubber washer on the stainless steel plug has perished and therefore will not hold water in sink when needed.

Unless its really old, you should be able to find a replacement stopper at HD or local plumbing supply.

There are no instructions with the product. 1. Do I need Plumbers Putty to get a good seal on the sink drain hole? 2. There are 3 washers: 1 thick rubber washer; 1 thin rubber washer; and 1...

Hi,
If you want to use the washers you place the thin rubber one on the top under the basket... then place the thick rubber one on the bottom first and then the paper washer...then turn tight...
If prefer either plumbers putty or clear silicone instead of the thin rubber one on the top...

Our frigidaire Galley front loader washer has an odor all the time even after washing in hot water...any suggestions?

Most odor problems can be traced to mildew or mold in the creases and folds of the bellows seal and the pump strainer. This is the seal that you see when the door is opened and connects to the drum.
There are chemicals available that can be placed in the washer. I've seen them advertised on YouTube (type in smelly washer), but I cannot vouch for them.
Some people report that they have been advised to leave the door open when the washer is not in use, and I've seen others recommend Tilex.
What works best, in my opinion is a thorough cleaning, including the strainer. Here's how:
Gain access to the strainer. It is located behind the front panel, at the bottom. The strainer is in-line between the drum and the pump, and is connected to the drum with a rubber hose. Open and clean the strainer. Look up into the pump cavity and remove/kill any debris in there as well. Reassemble the strainer, putting a spray of silicone on the "O" ring and threads. Wipe down the bellows seal with a solution of bleach and soapy water, getting all of the grooves and nooks wetted. Let it sit for 5 minutes, and wipe it again. Pour 1 cup of bleach in the washer. Fill the dispensers (detergent, bleach and softener) with bleach. Run a "sanitary" extended cycle with the hottest water on the wash cycle and rinse cycle. When this cycle is completed, run another cycle to flush all bleach residue out. Clean the seal with the bleach/soapy water 1X/week, or as your nose tells you.
Hope that you have found this to be helpful.
Best regards, --W/D--

Eco care system washer

There is probably debris in the pump trap. You can tilt the machine back and remove the three screws on the bottom panel. You will see 3 inch removable slotted cover on the pump. Turn this counterclockwise and remove the inner strainer. Clean all debris from this strainer and reinstall into place. Your problem should be resolved.
