Question about Gaggia Titanium Espresso Machine
There is a piece under the strainer, but you don't need it if you remember that the plastic bolt is called a thumb screw. When you tighten the thumb screw, you do it finger tight and you won't have any problems. The strainer just needs to be flush with the brew head so nothing will get under it. If you can't feel the edge of the strainer when you slide your finger across the brew head it is plenty tight. The piece you lost is to prevent people from over tightening the thumb screw with the wrench which you are not suppose to use to tighten the thumb screw.
