Nearing end of life message - Epson Stylus C86 InkJet Printer

Well, that wasn't much of a question. What do you want to know? Do you want an explanation of the message or what? Ink cartridges usually show "low" when nearing empty (and they aren't always that low). "End of Life" would refer to the printer itself, but keep in mind that, just like ink cartridges, the printer only counts numbers of cycles performed and that there is no actual gauge in the cartridge for the machine to use, or no way for the printer to know if it is worn out. This sounds like a ploy to sell another printer, but I don't know if it will stop working after it hits a magic number. Is your printer very old?

Ignore iwlsolve response!

Might be the same as my C66 and relates to the ink pads being full. See http://www.octoink.co.uk/pages/Epson-C86.html for details of how to dismantle the printer to get at the ink pads and print head wiper thing. Carefully prise the foam pads out and wash under running tap. Dry with kitchen towel/hairdrier and put them back carefully. They are at the right hand side as you look at the printer from the front. Download the much mentioned software from http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml to reset the counters.

It worked perfectly on my C66.

Depends on the usage of the machine. If hardly used, you should get a years worth. But here's what you can do:

Open front cover

Remove drum unit and toner cartridge assembly

Put drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back in machine, but do no close front cover.

Press Clear/Back
You will get a message "Replace Drum?"

Strange message epson cx8400

Your printer needs to be reset, the part that is near the end of their service life is the waste ink pad, it means that it is almost full, when it's full your printer will stop printing.

Toner Life End message on DCP-7040

If your cartridge has a lever on the left side near the rear, it needs to be reset, and there's a lever inside on the left that can stick and cause that error. You need to wiggle and pull that lever until it moves freely again.

Projection lamp nearing end of life replace lamp still coming on

Along with the instructions for the lamp installation, you should have revceived instructions on how to reset the lamp counter. If not, this operation is listed in the owner's manual. If you can not locate that manual, please confirm your model number and I will post the instructions. Since the counter has not been reset, the TV will continue to show the "error" message.
