Sony hcd-ec99i i have no sound from the speakers at all. I am not getting the protect message. please help

Check the simple stuff first

Is it muted?

Is the source selected sending signal (radio staion broadcasting, cd playing, ipod all the way ect)

Try doing some basic troubleshooting like,

see if all sources available yield the same result (TV, Radio, CD, Ipod, Aux jack)

When you turn the volume all the way up, do you hear an audible hiss from the speakers?(or use a test tone) If so, your amp is working and the problem is, your unit is not sending any signal to it.

If possible hook up your speakers to another system to rule them out, however I doubt that is your problem.

I have a yamaha rx-v463 and a yds-11 iPod dock that I can't get to work. My iPod comes on but I can't get any sound out of the speakers. Haven't used the iPod in a long time and I feel that I don't have...

First check the yam does play other sources of sound, e.g. radio or CD. Then try your ipod in another dock to check the Ipod is working.
Then check the manual for the Yam to be sure that you have set it to a mode where it will take in the signal from the IPod. Did you switch it away from IPod source to play a DVD or a CD or the radio?

How do i hook up mt ipod

To hook up your ipod to an a/v reciever you need a stereo mini to male rca cable. You plug the mini side into you ipods head phone jack, and the male rca's left and right(usually red and white colored plugs) to an auxilary input on the a/v reciever.-Example, tape, aux, sa/cd.
Change the input on the reciever to correspond with where you connected the ipod
Ensure the ipod is powered on and playing with the volume turned up.

How to hookup ipod to technics sb-2840 speakers

quick solution is to go down to radio shack and get a small amp.  They have them for under a $100.00 bucks. The connection is from the mini jack to stereo RCA's for greatest ease and flexibility.  You can also go to a good music shop like Guitar Center and see what they have used.

Speaker cuts out when ipod is hooked up to audio in port

try isolating the problem by inserting other sources such as tape deck, portable cd players, game consoles, if they work fine, test you ipod cable. next test you ipod on other audio in ports such as karaoke or other component stereos, ask a friend if he or she has one. test both, you may now have the idea where the trouble is.

Hook up patio speakers and use my cd/dvd/cable/ipod outside only

i'm not sure if this will work, but you could try connecting the rca stereo cables from you cable box to the cd input on the receiver those would be analog. then you could use the music channels at least. as for an ipod maybe sort of the same thing using an av cable instead of the dock;like i said i don't know if it will work but just a thought.

IPod connection

ipod...^.^ you can use a fm transmitter that you can buy from an ipod store, or you can use a audio cable ussually used in audio- video connection to a television set or hdtv sets. if you are trying to use a tape input-output, try it first in some devices. such as an cd player or walkman. if these works in two speakers maybe the plug is not compatible to your ipod. or maybe you bought an mono tape input-output instead or stereo type.
you can see if its an mono or stereo, by looking at the plug if it has two black lines it is an stereo if it's just one, that is mono.

hope I helped you with your problem..
