For some reason it appears that your radios Firmware has been corrupted The only thing you can do is to send the Radio to the factory. Include a Note explaining the problem with your radio, Your Name and Address and a copy of proof of purchase.

The travel lock is on open the top and on the front left underside there is a switch push it back and it should work fine

The cause is the lock lever of scanner unit is locked. Lift the scanner lid and unlock the scanner unit with the switch located under the lid on the left side.
