Question about Kohler Toilet - One Piece with Ingenium Flushing System - San Raphael by

Kohler one-piece has no flushing power

The toilet flushes and fills OK, but doesn't have the flushing power to remove toilet paper, let alone other waste. We've had the pipes cleaned out, so the problem is with the toilet, which is now 15 years old, but was a top of the line one-piece Kohler when purchased.

Good idea! But there are holes in the back wall of the tank that prevent any more water from getting into the tank.

We needed a new fill valve for our San Raphael but learned that kohler got rid of the supplier. We tried a valve from Lowes that was close but failed to properly wash the bowl from the new entering water and did not fill the bowl full enough. We put up with this for several months, with smells and having to clean the bowl with a brush daily until we found the following source for the proper valve. We installed this and it is wonderful. It replaces the water when flushed by streaming it from around the top of the bowl to clean it and is easily adjustable to fill the bowl with a LOT of water. I strongly recommend people with SR toilets use this. My wife and I replaced the valve in 20 minutes. Instead of watching TV tonight we may just set up some chairs and flush the toilet and watch the surge of water!

Don't flush more water! Trash the toilet and replace it with a toilet that uses less water and flushes efficiently; practically every manufacturer makes a dual flush or eco model. Spend your money on a good toilet rather than paying for and wasting water every day.

if its leaking from bottom of toilet on the floor. its the wax ring that may be bad, if it does this when flushing it is either cracked or the wax ring under toilet is bad.

Kohler toliets can be a pain to repair. I have found with them that the only thing to do with them is go to a plumbing company, take the model number with you and replace all in the inner parts to it. You will replace the fill valve and flush valve. After I do this on Kohler I don't have anymore problems with them. It should work for you, just make sure they are Kohler parts. Good Luck

Flush is weakening. Toilet paper won"t flush

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

i dont think you have toilet issue,

Try this. take a large bucket, like a paint or home depot orange bucket. fill 1/2 way...
put some toilet paper in the toilet. Then pour the water in fast, and see how it flushes. it it does a easy flush then your drain is ok. if its slow, you have a drain issue and not the toilet.

if that the case, then goto the toilet, and clean out all of the little holes, that are around the unit.. where you see the water come out. they can be clogged up. a small type wire like a clothes hanger.

I have to replace the gasket which the flush valve sits on. How do I remove the flush valve. The toilet is Kohler 1 piece model K-3323

The top of the pipe above the flush valve is threaded if you unscrew this you will be able to remove the flush valve and replace the gasket. I am assuming we are talking about the same here is a link that has all the parts:

Can't install new Kohler rialto Flush Value

First things first, remove the fill valve, and the flush handle mechanism. This will give you plenty of room to work with the flush valve. Before installing flush valve lubricate tabs with plumbers grease. Now put on a pair of work gloves, pushed down very hard and turn the tabs should slide easy because of the grease. Remember do not alter the gasket, the gasket needs to be compressed to do its job. I know removing the fill valve and the flush handle seems like a pain, but there is no way to get your hands in the proper position to install the flush valve assembly.

Toilet will not flush

It sound like you have debris caught in the fill valve. Remove the top where the washer is and put your hand over it and slowly turn the water on to flush the fill valve. Replace the washer with a new one and then replace the top.

If you have the old ball and **** style, replaceing the diaphram is harder so I would recommend replacing it with a fluidmaster fill valve. Hope this helps.
