Disk drive When you load a disc in your Xbox 360 console, the disc spins but will not read

Inspect and clean your disc Take a close look at the bottom side of your game, movie, or music disc (the side without a label or image). Are there scratches? Excessive scratches or smudges can prevent your console from reading the disc. Clean your disc Hold the disc by the edges without touching the top or bottom surfaces. The XBOX 360's DVD drive is tied to the motherboard using a software lock.The easiest way to overcome this lock is to buy the exact same manufacture DVD drive that is in your system now, remove the circuit board from the old DVD drive (which contains the software key) and transfer the circuit board into the new DVD drive that you purchase. If you do this simple procedure, there is no flashing involved. If your console has stopped reading discs this can be because the receptors on the back of the drive have overheated and to fix it you will need to send it in or use a good repair guide to do the job.

What you can do is download another halo 3, to your hardrive with the new microsoft update.
then you can use the broken disc in the xbox 360 the disc will not spin in the console the console just needs its license to read the loading comes from the hard drive.

Hi i had the same problem on my 360,
so i got a new laser off of ebay,
and that didn't fix it so then i read some fourms,
and found that my drive motor that spins the disc was broken,
so i replaced that and now the xbox is working like new again :)
