Dryer runs takes too long too dry clothes

Start the dryer and let it run for about 5-7 minutes, do you feel any heat if you open the door? If your dryer is producing heat most likely you have a restriction/blocked vent.

Dryer is not heating up to dry clothes

The spark ignitor maybe at fault. Listen for the clicking noise upon starting it up the first 30 seconds it runs. If not heard it is in need of a replacement

Our dryer stopped heating so we changed element and cutoff kit, worked for 2 loads and quit, again changed cutoff kit and worked for 15 minutes and stopped heating again, what are we not doing right?

The cutoff is there to trip if too much heat builds up around the heating element. The most common reason for this is plugged venting. But it has to do with poor air flow for sure.

- Check to make sure your lint screen is clean and nothing is fallen down the lint filter chute

- Briefly run the dryer without the vent connected and feel the air coming out the back of the dryer, it should feel like good air flow, now connect it again and feel the air where it comes out of your home, it should feel about the same strength.

- To clean the vent, you can use a long brush, a vacuum or even a leaf blower to try and clear the lint. (blow from inside out or you may make a mess inside)

Runs but is not heating up

Check your vent that comes out your house. If you are not feeling no air, it is being blocked by lint. If you are feeling air more than likely it is your heating elements.

Maytag atlantis gas dryer, will start, heat up but then no heat

Try running it with the vent disconnected and feel the air coming out of the dryer. It should have good flow. If it dries good, your pipe may be clogged.

GE Profile dpsr473ewoww timer doesn't work and heat level is low

We should address the heat problem first. If your dryer complaint is "heat seems low" or taking "too long to heat", this is commonly confused for other problems. When in fact, you may really have a "ventillation problem". Do you feel (with hand) alot of hot air pressure coming out the back of the dryer or house vent-line (for dryer)?

I would disconnect and clean the dryer exhaust vent/duct (at wall and machine). Then, while leaving the vent-line disconnected temporaily, test and run your dryer. You may see an signficant improvement.

Does it heat up better?
Do you feel alot of hot air and pressure coming out the back of the dryer?
When connected; do you feel alot of hot air pressure coming out of your house dryer vent?
