From what you described, it is a control issue as your husband suggested.if it is a mechanical type with a dial, try tapping it, or openning the panel and spraying it with an electronic contact cleaner

What should I check if there is no water or spinning after you start the machine?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire washer not getting any water or spinning. I see that you hit the start button and all the lights come on, and then hit the start a second time and all it does is clicks a couple of times but no water or spinning occurs. There could be a number of possibilities that can cause this to happen.

First, check to make sure that the door is completely closed. Sometimes the door seems like it is closed all the way, but it is slightly open and the locking mechanism is not catching, which could possibly be causing the clicking to happen.

Secondly, check the water hoses coming from the wall and into your washer to make sure that they are not kinked.

Lastly, it could be the motor itself. If the motor overheats, it will automatically restart after a 30 minute cool down period.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-
WP

Wont start.buzzes.unplug to turn off

Possible unbalanced load in the washer. I have found this to be the case in other types of top load washers. Just redistribute the load the try again. If this works, washer is doing what it needs to do to keep from spinning madly out of control and extending its life!

I would unplug the washer to reset it. if you have already hit the power button to turn the unit off and it failed to respond. Newer washer machines are like computers, and smart phones these days. you have to reboot them because they do sometimes lock up. Pull the cord for about 5 minutes and see if that resolves your issue.

While my wife was washing, the water was turned off to the washer. She hit the pause/cancel button. Now that the water is turned back on, when we hit the start button, all the lights turn off.

LG Tromm WM2277H washer won't start after tripping breaker

no fuses only control boards.with power off pull the top off and check wires at your power supply board(not the one with buttons). Look for burn or damaged wires. no luck with that, will probably need power board(usually the board that goes out). Call LG and speak to cust service....sometimes will cover the board.
