Question about Ryobi 15" Electric Factory Reconditioned Trimmer (ZRRY41002) - Factory Reconditioned

1 Answer

Motor will not stay running

I have a 725r that is about 10 years old. I already replaced the fuel lines and it ran fine. I just recently had to replace the primer bulb because it was cracked. I installed a universal primer bulb and it starts up, but then stalls once the fuel rins through. I don't know if there is air in the line or the universal primer is not creating/maintaining proper vacuum.
any thoughts?

If these parts were deteriorated then the carby diaphrams will be hard therefore they wont pump fuel.

2002 vw Passat starts but wont stay running keeps stalling out after 5 sec lots of fuel you can hear the pump

Take a look at the in line fuel filter .Follow the main fuel line from the fuel pump back to the engine you will find some kind of a filter between the tank and the intake manifold .
This is vary likely clogged its 13 years old unless you have replaced it at some point .
The biggest problem with a clogged filter is it makes the pump work to hard and ends up blowing the seals that pump the fuel hopefuly this hasn't happened yet and you can spend 10 bucks or so replace the filter and you will be fine.

My 10 year old weedeater hedge trimmer ran fine last year when I put it away for the season. When I tried to start it this year it wouldn't even fire. I put fresh fuel mix in and a new spark plug and...

I would check for spark and check the fuel lines, especially if fuel is left in it. Also if fuel left in you will have to empty the lines and carburetor or pull it enough to clear. Another thing to consider is that if fuel was left in it that the carburetor may need a rebuild, replacing the diaphrams.

I hope this is helpful for you.

Our scooter sat for 9 months in storage. When we got it out it wouldn't stay running. We ran the old gas out and put new in it and it still wont stay running, but if we take part of the fuel line off it...

its probably your fuel filter... When a motor sits with fuel for a while it will begin to varnish which will clog the fuel filter and sometimes cause the float or jets to stick or get clogged. But if it works with the fuel line detached I can almost promise its a fuel filter issue. If that doesnt clear it up check the petcock valve at the tank.

Ran out of gas, put already 6 gal. of gas but car still will not start.

this car is 10 years old, if you let it run out of gas then all the bad bits are lifted into the fuel line from the bottom of the fuel tank replace the fuel filter and hope this fixes the problem but dont let your engine run low on fuel again.adrian,,,,,,,

IVE HAD PLENTY OF THESE GO OUT EVEN A MONTH LATER. AS FAR AS THE STARTING FLUID JUST TRY AND CYCLE KEY BUT KEEP IT FROM TURNING STATER OVER. TURN ON AND OFF ABOUT 3 TO 5 TIMES IT SHOULD BUILD ENOUGH PRESSURE TO START. TO START MINIMUN PRESS IS 55PSI.
