How do I turn off the silent mode so the phone will ring?

Do not disturb or silent mode may have been enabled. Without the model number of your phone, I might miss one of the ways to re-enable ringing for your model. Make sure that the phone is in standby mode. Next, check if there is a DND button on the base for the cordless phone system. If the LED for the button is lit, press that button. You may need to hold the button; enabling Do Not Disturb requires a press and hold.

To disable silent mode, press and hold Silent on either the handset or the base. On the handsets, this may be the # key (below the 9). When you enable Silent Mode, you can get a prompt for how long you want the phone to be quiet. If you do not press any number key (other than 0), the Silent Mode will last until you disable it manually. You can then confirm the Silent Mode or it will be enabled after 5 seconds.

I hope this helps. In both modes, the answering system will automatically be turned on if it wasn't on before enabling the mode.

For the Uniden model D1680 & similar...

You ENTER "Silent Mode" by pressing and
holding the [ # ] key on the handset for a few
seconds until the display reads "Please Wait".
It will (chirp) and display "Silent Mode ON".

You can EXIT "Silent Mode" by pressing and
holding the [ # ] key on the handset for a few
seconds until the display reads "Please Wait".
It will (chirp) and display "Handset #".

Another easy way to end "Silent Mode" is to go
to the BASE and press the [ANS ON/OFF]
button to turn off the answering machine system.
(Push the [ans] button, do not unplug the power)

"Silent Mode" will clear a moment later while the
control voice tells you "Answering System is OFF"
Now you can again turn on the answering machine
system as desired.

you have to go into settings and change them from silent (meeting) mode .

Hi! Most phone have a double function for this "#" key. Just press and hold this button "#" and the silent mode will turn off/on.

To place the handset in Silent / Vibrate Mode
Step 1
To place the handset in Silent / Vibrate Only Mode, hold down the pound key (#) for about 2 seconds. To exit Silent / Vibrate Mode, perform the same action while in Silent / Vibrate Only Mode. You will see a confirmation message for Silent / Vibrate Only Mode, each time you enter or exit Silent / Vibrate Mode.
The SCH-U470 (Juke) handset will vibrate rather than ring when you receive a phone call, message or alert while in Silent Vibrate Only Mode.
Step 2
While in standby mode, press the volume key, located on the left side of the handset, then select either “Vibrate Only", “Alarm Only” or “All Sounds Off”. To disable perform the same action while in Silent / Vibrate Mode.
The SCH-U470 (Juke) handset will vibrate rather than ring when you receive a phone call, message or alert while in Silent / Vibrate Only Mode.

Check if your iPhone is not in silent mode. Push the Ring/Silent switch upwards to turn off silent mode. You'll know that the silent mode is not on when you don't see the small red dot at the Ring/Silent switch which is located just above the volume buttons.

what you have to do is customize it as silent mode by turn the ringing volume down and turning the sounds off. this can be done in profiles.

All you have to do is hold the pound (#) button down. It will then say exit silent mode. If you ever want to put your phone back in silent mode, just hold the pound (#) button down.
