Question about Samsung SCH-u340 Cellular Phone
I just tried both of these-- the hydrogen peroxide and shoving the battery up closer to the prongs... worked wonders!!! fixed completely!! thank you!

OK, I tried something that this solution made me think of. I put a little shim made from a piece of folded paper to make the battery fit tighter against the contacts. The phone started right up! I put the shim opposite the contacts. Not 100% sure yet but I'd figured I'd post this. Good luck.

I just had the same problem. I took out my battery and noticed its copper contact points were corroding slightly with a blue-green powder residue. I wiped down the battery, took a cotton swab with a dab of hydrogen peroxide, cleaned the corrorsion off the copper contact points, and voila! It works again! It has been very humid lately, and I wonder if the moisture contributed to the problem because my phone has never been wet, yet the battery compartment had a tiny bit of liquid in it. Condensation? Who knows.
