Check the audio jack plug from monitor to cpu if connected correctly. The audio jack plug should be connected to the sound card for audio out. You can also check if the volume in the monitor is adjusted or mute

Hi there just bought some wharfdale monitor speakers yesterday they seemed to go good and today they are creating wierd high pitched crackly sounds without even playing anything.. can you please help?

Do you live near an airport or some other place with a lot of radio traffic? I've had a similar problems with some of my speakers because of intense radio frequencies. if the problem persists in other places that the speakers are placed, perhaps you might need to run some shielded cable to block interference.

Same prob. My acer worked y.day and now no sound.

I completely unplugged my speakers. And uninstalled all the hardware for my speakers. Then restarted my computer. Then inserted my format disc for my speakers. Reinstalled it. Using all automatic speaker settings. And they work fine now.

How on earth do I control the volume on a Dell E172FPB monitor?!!

What dell model is it. Most did not have speakers built in. There are clips to install an optional speaker bar on most dell monitors. But it has its own bolume control.

Cannot hook eq to my receiver

The speakers will not sound right. You dont have two tape monitors on this receiver? You can simply use the tape otput to the EQ input, and then the Tape monitor input to the EQ output leads. Good Luck
