HOW DO YOU PROGRAME THE PSR-S91O DIGITAL KEY BOARD. THE TRANSPOSE CONTROL BUTTON IS NOT SYCHRONISING WITH THE KEYS

A SIMPLE way of looking at the transposer is that it shifts EVERY key on the keyboard left (+) or right (-) by the number of the transpose. ALL keys, black and white are counted. As far as counting sharps and flats I would NOT depend on that. The transpose would for instance allow you to play a song you knew in "C" and have the sounds moved to a different key. For instance, a transpose of +2 would move EVERY C to "sounding" D, C# to D#, D# to F, E to F#, F to G, F# to G#, G to A, G# to A#, A to B, A# to C, and finally B would sound C# pitch. Given a key like G for a song that has one sharp (F#) to play this by keying it in the key of "C" you would use a transpose of +6 or minus 6. The number of key positions (including black) between the key you want to play in and the key the song is in. For a song in D that is played in C you would use either a +2 transpose or a -10 depending on whether you wanted the higher or lower octave to sound. Looking at it this way I do NOT believe the method you proposed would work... Look at it the way I described and you won't go wrong.

You have set the transpose to +1. You need to reset the transpose function to zero or no transpose.

Casio Chord is internal to the keyboard and doesn't come out on MIDI. Transpose is similar and while the button may send a MIDI transpose type signal out, the notes will not transpose in your computer...

Look in your manual under "transpose". The transpose feature shifts the keys up or down often up to a full octave. This allows you to play in ANY music "key" you know and generate sound in a different one for say a vocalist who only sings in another...

The key contacts proabably need to be cleaned.

One has to disassemble the unit being very careful of cables. Do not force anything.

The contacts are usually black conductive rubber "pills" under silicone rubber domes. These are often in strips covering several key contacts.

Clean both the pills and the circuit traces on the board they contact with 99% isorophyl alcohol and Q-Tips.

If you want to play in C and carry the sound of Bb,
1. From C, count down two half-steps to Bb
2. Press and hold the Transpose button and press the key on the keyboard that displays through the window, "-2"
3. To turn off the transpose feature, just press the Transpose button again.
