Question about Canon PIXMA MP830 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Printer said it had the wrong heads, I would shut it off for a while and it would print. Now it will do nothing but says error 5200. The ink cartridges will not even move so we can check them. It will not fax, nothing but turn off and on.

The person that answered my question said what the tech help at Canon said. They say I need a new printer head which will cost $105 plus the taxes I assume. I would never recommend this printer as we have not been happy with it for the 2 years we have had it. Not user friendly.

Hi ...

As you have already tried to shut down the device for some time and then switch it on ... but that did not resolve the issue. This is a temperory fix. For error 5200, I would suggest that you contact the dealer and get the printer repaired ... There is no other solution availabe for this problem.

Don't forget to vote if this helps ... Cheers :)

Canon pixma mp272 printer. replaced black cartridge for the first time and now it wont print. getting error p08 on the printer and error 5200 on my laptop screen

Hello Hellen,
the error P08 is error for abnormal temperature in print head. Aa possible cause the ink cartridge is faulty and needs to be replaced. The same error description is for 5200 on your PC.

I recommend that you try to replace ink cartrigde under warranty in store where you bought it. If after that you still have error, take the printer to the service center because they logic board ( pcb ) is faulty.

Hope that helps!

I kept getting service error 5200 when I tried printing something. How do I fix this problem?

Hi there

Service error code 5200 is the print head error. Rub the print head into a plain paper with rubbing alcohol until ink flows and then after that remove all the USB cable connection and power cord and plug it again. Then run the print head cleaning maintenance like print nozzle or print alignment.

It should be fine right now. Please let me know if you need more help

My printer is showing error code 5200.i took it to the store i bought it from and the electrician said that the printing board is damage.can it be fixed.

Hello

Well, i dont exactly know if the electrician has given the correct diagnosis, but then i could be wrong as well. SO here is my opinion.

According to the error code, http://pixma.ulmb.com/?p=226, the error #5200 means "Print head temperature rise error".

Some of the nozzles of your printer are clogged. The print head will overheat because it does not have ink going through the nozzles to cool it. This explains that your printer prints again after cooling. But you continued to print repeatedly, the print head may have been destroyed due to overheating. Printing solid color on Canon printer, while the print head is clogged, is the quickest way to kill a print head. This kind of instruction may work for other printers. But it is certainly NOT for the Canon printers.

When a Canon print head is clogged, only printing nozzle check is allowed. Otherwise, you are putting your print head at risk. Trust me because I killed an i550 print head this way while learning how to unclog print head.

Really hope this can be of help.

Kind regards
Andrea
