Hello

Thanks for contacting Fixya.com

The issue is with the door switch:

A door switch is a simple on/off mechanism that prohibits the dishwasher from operating when the door is open. Because there are so many different styles and models, there is no one way to replace a dishwasher door switch. However, there are some aspects of door switch replacement that are common to all units. They are presented here for your benefit :

With the power disconnected, begin by removing the inner panel of your dishwasher's door. This is accomplished with the removal of about 6 - 10 screws. Once you have successfully removed the inner panel, locate the switch. There may be another much smaller panel covering the back of the control panel. This smaller panel may be held in place with some additional screws, or with some clips. Dishwasher door switches are only an inch long. Most are black in color and all have metal prongs, called terminals, extending out from the body of the switch. Dishwasher door switches are commonly integrated with the dishwasher's door latch, or mounted to a bracket.
There will be wires attached to your door switch. Carefully remove them. Be aware that some door switches may have a locking clip keeping the wiring harness from coming loose. In this case, there is a protruding lever which must be depressed while the harness is gently pulled away from the terminal.

Use extra caution in removing switches that are a part of the latch assembly or that have a bracket. You do not want to end up breaking the switch's housing because then you will have a bigger problem on your hands.
Replace the old switch with a new one. Reassemble the inner door panel and reconnect your dishwasher to its power supply. Run your dishwasher through a cycle to make sure it is working properly.

Best of luck

God Bless

Not working

Good Afternoon James,

I see that you are still having trouble with your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF7000E, finishing and now starting a load, even after replacing the door lock.

I would start by making sure that your washer door is completely closed.

Next I would check to make sure that your washer controls are not locked. You will see a "LOC" code if the controls are locked. To get them out of the lock mode, press and hold the "Options" and "Select" buttons at the same time for 10 seconds.

If you are still having trouble you will want to give your washer a hard reset. You can do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power at the circuit breaker for 2-3 minutes.

Once power is restored, if you are still having trouble with your appliance either not starting or not completing the cycle, I would recommend contacting either the manufacturer or your local authorized technician. Hope this helps.

-Best Regards-

Tip

FRIDGIDAIRE FRONT LOAD WASHER DOOR LOCK

THIS FRONT LOAD WASHER HAS AN ELECTRONIC SWITCH THAT SNAPS INTO THE LOCK MECHANISM. MINE POPPED OUT OF THE 2 CLIPS THAT HELD IT IN PLACE, SO WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR, THE LOCK LIGHT DID NOT LIGHT AND THE DOOR DID NOT LOCK. HAD ALL KINDS OF ADVICE THAT DIDN'T WORK. UNPLUG THE WASHER, REMOVE O RING AROUND RUBBER BOOT. REMOVE THE FRONT PART OF THE BOOT. THEN YOU JUST REMOVE THE LOCK MECHANISMS, 2 SCREWS IN THE FRONT. PULL THE LOCK MECHANISM HOUSING TO THE SIDE, BE CAREFUL OF THE CONNECTED WIRES, THEN LOOK WITH A FLASHLIGHT. IF THE SMALL SWITCH BOX IS OUT OF PLACE, THEN POP IT BACK IN. THIS PROBLEM STARTED WHEN I WAS CLOSING THE DOOR TOO HARD AND QUICKLY. SO BE GENTLE WHEN CLOSING YOUR DOOR. THE ARM THAT LIFTS TO HIT THE SWITCH THAT TURNS THE DOOR LOCK LIGHT ON AND LOCKS THE DOOR, IS PLASTIC.

Frigidaire washer model ATF6000ES1 door not locking, the door closes, but it's not recognized by control panel.

You are having a problem with the door latch sensor indicating everything is connected correctly. Check to make sure your door is not sagging and then make sure the door latch is not broken or cracked.

Either someone bent the door by excessive weight on it while open (like a kid standing on it) or something is jammed in the sealing surface.

Frigidaire affinity door will not lock when door is closed or register door is not closed when open

Hi,
Make sure you are allowing the washer to completely finish its cycle before opening the door. It is normal for the door to lock at the end of a cycle. The locking mechanism keeps owners from opening the door before all of the water has been drained. If the door on the washer is locked, select the "Drain" or "Spin" options on the front-load washer. This will completely drain the water from the system and unlock the door, allowing you to open it.

Frigidaire affinity washer doesn't start

Try holding the 'options' & 'select' buttons together till the door lock button comes on. This is the child lock function. You can do it again for the lock to come off. Hold down for over 3 seconds
