Those kind of problems can becaused by a bad earth, the same way when a brake light acts like an indicator on a car. Look for any earthing cables/connectors
If you let us know what's wrong with the TV, we may have a solution, rather than have you taking stabs in the dark about what's wrong. I mean if it's not turning on, whining, or turns off 3 seconds after being turned on, or just clicks if you try to turn it on, or there is sound but no picture...chances are we already have the solution. Tell us what's wrong with it, and we'll see what we can do!

Try a Logitech Harmony universal remote, they can be uploaded with the drivers from the internet and this might do the trick. Otherwise you can contact Samsung and ask for a replacement of the original remote.
