Need to reset bios PW on 4720z laptop

Have a Acer Aspire 4720z laptop with a bios PW in place. System boots but am unable to get into the bios settings. All software attempts as well as back door passwords have been tried. Ready to take the thing apart if necessary to clear it, but before attempting it blind wanted to see if anyone has pulled one apart before or has another possible solution.

Check your manual that who is the BIOS manufecturer. Usually ther BIOSes are widely used in IBM Compatible Systems. Phoenix, Award and AMI. Then visit any forum which deals with BIOS. From there you can find the master password which may work. Otherwise you have to clear the CMOS Settings to recover password. (ehteshamhusain@gmail.com)

Computer hardware

ashu, not familiar with the 4720z model and I couldnt find it on the manual downloads section of the website.

Have you tryed pressing F11 as this brings up the boot menu on my Aspire and allows you to select the device you wish to boot from.

Failing that i have found this site on google which will sell you a replacement manual.

Acer Aspire 4720Z

Hey there neha patne, based on the info given, my best guess is that your boot sequence is not placing your harddrive as your primary boot device. While you are in the setup screen (via F2), locate the boot sequence line and enter. Change setting to place harddrive as primary boot device, disabling the other options and not leaving it as an auto-detect setting. Save changes and reboot. Also please ensure there are no media in the drives or unnecessary peripherals plugged in while booting up. I hope this helps. Good Luck.
