I have a ryobi weed eter it has worked great for the past year. this year when i started it it will idle but shuts down when i give it gas.. I have completly broke it down and cleaned it with carb cleaner, bought new spark plug. I pulled the fuel filter out to see if it was clogged, did not put it back in. did not see any cracks in fuel line. also I cannot kill it when push the kill button. Make sure you have the carb. fuel line on the correct side of carb. Not on primer bulb side.

Sounds like you need to take the carb. apart and clean it. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to clean the small ports in carb. they work great for this job. Make sure to either clean or replace the small screen in thcarb. as well.

Sounds like the clutch has taken a long trip south. If the clutch pads are not wore out, try some wd40 on the pad hinges.

If it is under 2 years old, I would take it to a warranty repair center. The carburetor have been giving some problems so they have needed to be replaced because they are sub standard quality.

Have a Ryobi CS30 Weedeater, will not start, it is about a year old, did not see a spark, just bought new plug.

If you still don't have a spark with the new plug, then you may have a kill switch wire grounding the motor, keeping it from starting. If it's not that, then you have a bad ignition module (coil).

If you have a spark arrester fitted, it will be blocked with carbon preventing the exhaust gases leaving. It will be behind a plate bolted to the exhaust silencer/muffler. Scrape the carbon off the wire mesh carefully, until you can see through the mesh again.
