Then it may not be the lamp, but make sure you have the right one (sp-lamp-021). also check to see if the colorwheel is moving. turn the projector on and listen for a high-pitched whir. if you don't hear one, the colorwheel needs replacing. and the lamp won't light without the colorwheel spinning.

I have an optima hd180 that will not power up. The projector was indicating a bad bulb, so I replaced that with a new one. Now it still will not power up and the fan does not come on either.

Problem w/ OEM bulb, it causes a lot of issues from my experience. Your ballast might have gone bad, hopefully it's just that. Check the voltage output of the ballast, make sure you're getting the proper amount.

Infocus 4805 Lamp will not ignite after new bulb and reset.

it there is no high-pitched squeal when it starts up, the colorwheel needs replacing. the lamp won't light without it. the part is under $50, but installation is quite involved.

In the manual there is a chart which will indicate the nature of the failure depending on the number of times the red led flashes before a pause.

Most common is the projector's lamp timer has exceeded the operational lamp time limit.

While the projector's red led is flashing, press the volume up and down buttons on the projector simultaneously and hold them both in for 10 seconds.
This will reset the lamp inhibit protocol.

However if the lamp has thousands of hours of use you need to replace it before it actually fails.

I turn on the 4805,green led blinks & bulb does not come on?

After a few minuets does the green blinking light turn to a red blinking light?

If so the problem is the lamp did not strike.Either the lamp has failed (most likely) or there is a problem with the power supply (less likely)

Yikes. I bet the bearing is bad in the fan and/or the fan is rubbing up against something. It might be an fix.

Projector problem

I generally fix this by re-seating the bulb housing. Take it out and put it back in. Look for cracking at the base of the bulb on the mirrored surface. It could be a barely functioning bulb that isn't busted, but can't initialize. I would take it to a shop that has the same bub type in a housing and make a quick switch.
