Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Hi, You might also look at the capacitors on the main power board they are the first to go (Bad) Look for bulged caps and or leaking.
Replace them with same ratings. Good luck
have you connected all the connectors in order is it a like for like replacement check the connectors are pushed in reboot
maybe the power supply shorted something when it died
ok, when you plug in the set, does the power light come on? Assuming you ordered a power supply in good working order, you may very well have a faulty main board. The power supply produces standby power that the main board uses to power the standby/power on light. Your main board also uses the standby power to provide the "ON" signal to turn on the rest of the power supply.
Transformers fail on your power supply board. Go to the Sharp website put the model number in and serial number and in order and you can order a replacement parts. You can find out how to replace it via YouTube it's not as hard as you think
I fixed it by replacing the two capacitors with 3300uf 25v instead of Magnavox's 3300uf 10v and a power swith that I ordered from http://www.encompassparts.com/. Also I did have a power supply put in from a repair place that cost $160.00. It is working perfect now and no blinking light.
Have ordered a new power supply PCB as too many parts need replacement. Best to buy the whole lot. Ventilation seems to be an issue with this unit, I am thinking of installing a small fan at the back to cool the voltage regulator and main transformer. Thanks.
Tirn console off and disconnet power supply for 30 seconds. then reconnect and turn on the console via the button on the front WATCH THE LIGHT CLOSELY - if it JUST turns on then goes off its either a dead powers supply-perfectly feasable bearing how old the thing is. If it blinks then im afraid your console is dead and a replacement will probably be cheaper than repair. New power supplies can be ordered in by GAME or GAMESTATION if not in stock
