I'm afraid you'l have to repurchase a new set of USB dongle and mouse. Dongle of another wireless mouse is not compatible with a mouse not paired with it from babric.
The antenna that you found is purely for the Wireless LAN. The Keyboard and Mouse are already paired with the bluetooth receiver. This is "HIDDEN" in the mouse battery compartment. But not where you'll see it... it is in the LID of the compartment.
what model number is the mouse ?
did this happen after you installed new software on your computer ?
perhaps the mosue needs new batteries (some wirelss input devices require AAA batteries)
what is the Dell desktop model number ?
have you gone to the wesbite of the mouse manufacturer, to see if there is an update driver ?
Insert the charged batteries in the mouse and press the Connect button on the USB plug. The LED on the plug will start blinking. Now check your mouse, it also has a connect button, press it and you can use your mouse now. In my Microsoft wirelss mouse the connect button in underneath it, near the place where the LED blinks.
you can connect a wired mouse to the laptop from the rear. that is the only way that you will able to do something for now.
once you have the ablility to navigate in GUI., delete the ATT wireless device driver. and restart the laptop.
if you still have noo control after that, you have different porblem. if that solved you porblem then, you need to get a different ATT wirelss card or a updated driver fro that card.
First check to see if your windows can see the wireless router. Does it see the router? Click view wirelss networks to see a list of available networks. If you cant see any make sure your wireless network is switched on.
Also which manage s your wireless network, the windows or the wireless cards own software?
