Shark vacuums generally are not repairable - in this case, Shark doesn't sell just the part; ya gotta buy the entire power head. And it costs more than the vacuum did new.

Shark's are considered throw-aways; when they break they're done.

It'd REALLY be nice if Linens 'N Things hadda told me that BEFORE I bought the vacuum.

And by the way, LOTS of EP754s break in the same way yours did.

Sharks ARE fixable though. The MAIN two reasons these things break are the temperature switch and the thermal fuse.

One cuts the power to the coils when the temperature reaches a certain point--the other is a fail safe that permanently disables the Shark if it gets too hot. I just replaced the thermofuse on my broken shark and restored it to working condition. My friends have a broken thermal switch which makes the machine say that it's ready, but its not hot. I just need to find the correct operating temp to order the right component to fix it too.

Many EP754 owners found that the power nozzle (the part that connects the power head to the tube) cracks; it's a structural defect due to the fact that they used crappy plastic and didn't design the part to withstand the stresses of being banged about. The power head works; the vacuum works; but the power head won't attach to the tube properly. The plastic part is NOT available as a replacement; Shark will only sell the entire power head. And (in my case) it costs more than the entire unit did at Linens ;n Things. Of COURSE you can fix SOME of the problems; fuses are common between manufacturers. But anything Shark-specific and you're screwed.

Why is my power head not working

You either have a broken power cable going to the head or your canister isn't supplying power to the head, or the motor for the head it bad.

Electrolux cyclone power 1900w no suction with main attachment

If you've tried several different attachments and they all exhibit the same poor suction problems, you should completely check the parts of the vac that are common to all the parts that have the problem.

Since the motor creates good suction without attachments, I suspect the problem is the hose. Either an obstruction or a crack. Typically, if you block the end of the hose, the pitch of the motor's sound will go up slightly - like it it is spinning faster (it is). You can keep removing parts from the vac intake until the motors sound decreases - and that will indicate the part that has the obstruction. If it is a hose, you should clear the obstruction with a "snake" or other object like a pole.

If the motor sound does not change, then there is likely a split or crack somewhere between the intake of the vac and the device. You'll have to check it carefully - or if possible - connect it to the output of a vac and seal / cover the end. Feel along the length of the hose, etc. for air being blown out. Repair the opening and you should be "good to go"

Good luck!

Remove hose adaptor for eureka maxima to replace with new one

We banged on the black rubbery part that holds the hard plastic adapter in place until the old adapter was broken into pieces then removed the pieces. The new adapter just simply snapped into the rubbery black connector piece. I then used a screw driver to scrape the gasket out of the old adapter and put it into the new one.

My Hoover steam vac dual v clean water and detergent tank leaks water before attached to the vac and during cleaning

This is a common problem with the earlier models which had a separate soap tank glued to the clean water tank. The plastic was too thin beneath the valve on the clean water side and would develop cracks. You most likely will need a new one piece tank. ( Part # 42272104)

Hose for G3 Kirby doesn't fit Sentria

Yes G3 and G4 had different gasket thus the suction blower connector connecting Kirby hose to the unit on later models is different. You do not need to replace entire hose but just the plastic part that connects to the vacuum. You can find it HERE. To remove old connector you may have to submerge the end of the hose into hot water (not to hot to touch) so the vinyl becomes soft and you can bend it in with finger bringing plastic end over the lip on the molded end of the hose.

Good Luck

Hoover SteamVac Ultra (model F5883-900) Threw it away, and had to buy a new machine. Sorry, but I found it more difficult to deal with the housing unit on the machine and just couldn't deal with it anymore. I hope you have better luck than I did with it. I couldn't find ANY help on ANY web sites for this model, just too old I guess.

I'm using Miele Medivac vacuum and I just sucked in a small plastic eye drop container by accident (I sometimes take off the brush part to **** in 'small enough' articles). And it is jammed in the part where the plastic hose connector bends. I think I can take it out if I can just disconnect the long necked plastic hose connector that connects the metal wand part and the hose part. Is it designed to be disconnected or should I not even try it?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The long necked plastic hose connector is made to be replaced because they do brake upon occasion and the part is made to come apart. If you need assistance please contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer or to contact the Miele factory to get a owner’s manual to check the trouble shooting guide and or a schematic of the breakdown of how to un-install the

long necked plastic hose connector or gooseneck of which some people call it. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Need small hose and connector parts for a bissell steam vac. model 1690

Sorry but Bissell has obsoleted this model and all of its parts. About all you can do is call around and see if some one would happen to still have what you want in stock. Might be wiser to buy new.

Water & soap spray constantly even when trigger is not depressed.

The connection for the hose to the cleaner is also a valve assembly. There is a white plastic spring- loaded sleeve that the hose must push in for water to flow into the hose. Part # is 43523004. This is a rather flimsy part, mine cracked and cleaner continously leaks out the backside of the valve housing until the tank is empty GRRRRRRR!

www3.sears.com there are diagrams and parts lists for similar model F7452-900.
