I've cleaned the brew group and de-scaled the machine twice in the last two months. I noticed the piston gasket is worn in a few places.
SOURCE: How do you take apart the grinder on Saeco Spidem Villa Household Coffee Machine
There should be screws on the side or the bottom of the unit that will allow you to pull it apart. The problem seems to be that the two grinding wheels have gone bad and needs to be replaced. On this unit you cannot adjust the grinding as far as would need to be to fix the problem when the teeth get to small

Try this, adjust the grind to a coarser setting atleast 2 numbers, then remove brew unit and look behind at white plastic valve, there is a small chamber under valve make sure chamber is clean and that the small discharge from chamber to drain tray is also clear. Then remove shower screen from brew unit and clean if necessary, also check the tube from the shower. Reinsert and test.

Hi
Remove the dredge drawer as far as you can. Open the door. On the left side of the brewing unit, and towards the back of the brew group, there is a single screw. Remove the screw. Grab the handle and pull carefully, but firmly with a quick ****. The brew group should come out. There is a piece that remains in the machine. Slide the piece down and to the right and it will come off. Insert the piece into the hole on the backside of the brew group with the clip up. Tighten the screw and move brew group back into position. If your brew group did not come out please give us a call.
To return the brew group to the centered position, you first need to drop the funnel. To do this, look on the opposite side of the brew group from the handle. At the top you will see an object that looks like a sharks fin. If you follow this piece down you will see 2 horizontal bars on the brew group body. Push your finger between these 2 bars and the funnel will drop. Now you can push the puck slide on the left side down and to the center. If you look down through the funnel you should see a piston. This should be centered in the funnel. If not, locate the slide on the left side of the brew unit,(it should be hanging down, a flat rectangular piece attached to the cylinder) and push the slide to the right until it does. Push the press button and you are now ready to reinsert the brew group in to the machine. First you must close the door and turn on the machine without having the brew group in, but you must have your drip tray and dredge drawer in. Turn the machine on. You will hear the motor turn on and when it stops completely, open the door and remove the tray, now insert the brew group and replace the tray.

You will hear the motor turn on and when it stops completely, open the door and remove the tray, and dreg drawer, now replace the tray and insert the brew group. If it still won’t go in check the cog in the back of the machine. There are 2 wide teeth that should be at the 10:00 and 12:00 position. If they are at a different position you have a broken drive gear.

Hi
Yep.
Remove the brew unit. Holding the handle, the top left side is the brew head. There is an outlet pipe that exits the front side towards the door (looks like a long "L" pipe). 2screws hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold ("L" pipe assembly). Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (be careful, there is an O-ring, spring and at the end a black rubber disk or crystal ball).
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember, thumbscrew), DON’T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers.
Once the screen is out look at where the screen was. There are 2 holes. A big one in the center and a small one to the side.
With the brew unit upside down over the towel, insert a paperclip into the small hole and force anything out the other side. I have gotten worms almost a 1" long from this passage. The paper clip has to go from this side to prevent damage to the seat on the other side.
Clean then reassemble. Brew unit on towel right side up. Drop the crystal ball in first. Then the spring small end first on the crystal ball.
Now the O-ring over the spring, then place the manifold on top of that with the pipe towards the machine. Insert your screws (I turn them backwards a little with a little downward pressure until they feel like they drop into the threads. They should turn down easily, if not back them up a little more ( we are trying to find the old threads) and tighten. Install screen, and tighten with your fingers. The screen just needs to be flush with the bottom of the brew head. That should do it.
