Go to the margin you want to set press but don't hold the margin release key Space or back space to desired location, Press the L. or R. margin key. You can Get an owners manual at NADIST.COM one of the current Nakajima models will be the same as your's.

get a computer and learn to use it with a printer. Royal may be out of business and certainly, parts for an old royal powerwriter are no longer available.

If you don't have a manual go to NADIST.COM click on current models you will that one of the Nakajimas is the same as your T/W.

There is a good chance that there are wires broken in the carrier harness about 1' from the carrier.
You'll need a tech.

It sounds like the ribbon is twisted and interfearing with the P/W Try installing a new ribbon and check the P/W for bent or broken spokes.

check if typing wheel is the correct one for this machine.
you have to make sure the bright side of he correction has to face you

check the multiwire cable harness under the carriage assmbly..may have one or two broken wires close to the carriage itself...if this is the case you will probably have to have the carriage replaced.
