I can't check now, since I disassembled unit, but seems it isnt enought:

    1) I think the switching should work only on GV-D1000E (PAL VCR), but not on the GV-D1000

    2) the switching proposed switch only analog output, when I need analog PAL Input

I guess it is necessary to init config pages (F,G,7, B (eeprom and flash on MS-95) C,D,8 (eeprom on 275) as PAL mode, and , maybe, change main crystal from 54MHz to 40.5MHz. Think, physically these two versions differ only in crystal (if not encounter cover marks)

If you suppose the crystal ie freq isn't necessary to change?

could you help with eeprom binary?

PS my cliet is very limited in space and power supply, so HW converted (the first solution I proposed) is not suitable

Unfortunately only the manufacturer has access to the level service manual. You will want to give Sony a call for further information.

So sorry we couldn't be more help.

Go to the setup menu and set the GV-D1000 to PAL, the analog camera can be connected using AV cables.

To change the menu you can follow on the manual below, the English text is at the left side of the pages, instructions from page 107 to page 109:

Hi!
Need GV-D1000 to work - 5998a60.gif

Let me know if this solves your problem.

Bye.

Re-flashing the Eprom with the PAL version of the recorder should be enough, providing that you find the firmware image.

At that point much easier to buy a PAL to NTSC converter for about $200 rather than risking the Mini DV recorder.

    Regards.

AV input and processing in circuit schematics for the two models are the same. The frequency will be set from NTSC to PAL by the control, manged by the firmware stored in the EEprom chip.

You can find schematics under section 4 of service manual available here for online consulting.
On service manual you find schematics for both models.
I think that the most difficult part will be finding the image to flash the unit.

Hi there How can we connect Sony GV-D1000E with MacBook Pro (2010 model) please?

You need a firewire cable.
Most likely a 4 to 6 pin unit unless the Mac has an 800 port, then use a 4 to 9 pin.

I want to download the recorded data into the Computer system by my handicam CCD-TRV428E PAL Model

There is a tutorial for doing this with your camera on Sony's site at THIS LINK

You can also download a manual and get other information.

To get videos from this camera, or any analog video source, into a computer, you have to play them into an analog video interface port. These are available as expansion slot cards for a PC. They will come with drivers and probably software to digitise the video input and record it to a file. Lots of third party video editing software will also be able to accept the input from this kind of port. You don't need any "driver" related to the camera, it is just a video signal source. The connecting leads will be standard RCA signal plugs, like the ones you use to connect to a TV or VHS recorder. You probably already have a lead for this.

Sounds like you're feeding the ADVC the wrong broadcast format. Either PAL when the ADVC is in NTSC mode, or NTSC when the ADVC is in PAL mode.

Alternatively, your capture software may have a broadcast format setting as well, and that may not be matching what the ADVC is sending out. Remember that the ADVC does not do NTSC<->PAL format conversion, so NTSC analog input becomes NTSC DV, and PAL analog input becomes PAL DV.

Hope this helps.

Pass Thru, Analog Signal Converter How-To

I wonder if this is a MacroVision problem. Try this; take a VCR tape that you have recorded from the tv, try to record a commercial and then play this tape through your setup, I bet you it works. (Now take what I say next in the sense that it is given and that is as advice)When you are trying to push signal that you get from an analog source from the VCR by law that signal has to be encoded with macrovision to ensure that the signal can not be copied. Now the funny thing is you can transfer tapes which have not been encoded this is normal, what you need is a piece of equipment that removes Macrovision, here is a link that might help: http://www.regioncodefreedvd.com/copyeliminator.html also look up the company SIMA
