I've never seen a vehicle w/o a blower resistor. You don't need to remove the blower. The resistor is about 2 inches x 3 inches and is installed in a hole in the plenum (duct) near the blower motor. It will have a wiring harness connected to it. It could be under the passenger dash or under the hood, depending on where the blower motor is.

SOURCE: Location of the rear blower

The blower motor resistor gets very hot, so it is always located in a position where the blower can keep it cool. Inside the box with the blower but accessed from the outside, usually with two screws holding it in.

CAUTION On vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in an accidental airbag deployment, possible personal injury or death.

NOTE The blower motor is located on the passenger side of the vehicle under the instrument panel. The blower motor can be removed from the vehicle without having to remove the HVAC housing.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the blower motor.
  3. Remove the three screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing.
  4. Remove the blower motor from the HVAC housing by rotating and tilting the blower motor as needed for clearance.

    To install:
    1. Align and install the blower motor into the HVAC housing.
    2. Install the three screws that secure the blower motor to the HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 20 inch lbs. (2.2 Nm).
    3. Connect the wire harness connector to the blower motor.
    4. Reconnect the battery negative cable.

SOURCE: 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, blower motor stopped working

Hi, On the passenger side, up under the dash is your blower motor. Have the key on and the fan switch on and bump the motor with you hand. It is the unit with the quick disconnect wire going to it on the right side closet to the wheel well.I took mine out today and cleaned it with spray cleaner for electric motors (NON-FLAMMABLE) and put it back in. There are only three 8 mm bolts holding it in place. I have a new one on order from PEPBOYS($51.00)but for now it's working just fine!

C2002 Dodge Ram 1500 AC control only works on highest setting. Need new control?

Probably the resistor pack for the blower motor. It should be behind the glove box. Two screws hold it in place to the ac ducting. As long as you don't have digital temperature controls they only run about $25 at any parts store.

Dodge Ram 1500, air would only work on high (fan), then quit working totally. Replaced blower resistor and still won't work.

You sometimes have to put something between the cage and the motor and tap on the shaft. Often times the cage breaks apart.
Soaking the shaft with WD40 or other product may help break it loose.

How to change blower motor in a 2004 dodge ram 1500, my blower quit working & i tested the blower & it works & a friend told me that the switch is bad .

Good Evening. Unfortunately it could be the switch, or it could just be the blower motor resistor, which is where i would look for power coming out of to the blower motor first and foremost. I hope this helps your situation, and if you have aany jmore questions please feel free to ask.

Remove dash to get to sensore for blower on 2002 dodge ram 1500 the blower only works on high

If the blower motor is only running on high the problem is the blower motor resistor. location for resistor is behind the glove box. Remove all items in glove box. remove glove box from dash and to the left of the blower motor you will see a electrical plug, remove the plug and the resistor mounting bolts. remove the resistor and replace it with new resistor. reinstall all items as you have taken them off. hope this will help you.
