After literally searching all morning online...I am desperate, lol! My
Quasar VCR manual is lost VHQ830 (not 840), and I just need to refresh
my mind on how to enter codes to control a TV! We just got a Samsung
TV (used- 3 yr old), and I'd like to control it like I did our old TV
with my Quasar VCR remote. I got some codes online to try...BUT my
problem is I have no idea what buttons on the remote to press to enter
them! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
THANK YOU for your time.

Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.

RCA Codes for VCR
I need to find out how to record on theVHQ940. I bought a used VHQ940 without a manual or remote. My son used a universal remote to turn it on to my Magnavox TV, but don't know how to program it to record. I need a manual.
I am not conversant with VCRs sold in the United states, but - a VCR is a VCR is a VCR.
So, can i suggest an alternate solution to your problem?
Why not use the AV out sockets of your VCR and hook them to the AV IN sockets of your TV? In this manner, you you also get a better image. And of course, you feed In the signal source (Antenna, cable Box, etc) directly to the TV, and use your remote to switch to AV mode whenever you desire to watch movies or Tape.
