Try contacting some of the online sewing machine vendors (Sewing Machines Plus, Sewing Parts Online, etc). They may be able to supply replacement control units for your machine.

1. Is the needle bent or worn--replace
2. Is the needle inserted correctly into the needle holder--check needle
3. Is the Serger threaded correctly--rethread
4. Is the presser foot pressure right for the fabric--adjust

use a scrap piece of fabric to sew on as you adjust the tension
when the tension is to loose adjust one number higher till stitch
looks good

I need a new foot pedal for Janome My Lock 634D. where would I order it from?

If you are in the USA you can cCall Janome head office on 1-800-631-0183, ext. 774.

Their address is:
Janome America, Inc.
10 Industrial Ave. Ste. 2
Mahwah, NJ 07430

Or go to your nearest Internet Janome retailer, the list is here
http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/FindaDealer?action=listInternetRetailers
Just make sure if it is a foot control and power lead combination, that you get it in the right voltage for your machine. IE USA, 110V but Australia will be 240V.

If you are in another country then start here http://janome.com/chooser/ and chose your country, to find the Janome website for your location, and then go to the Contact Us page to find contact details.

Hope this helps you to locate a new foot control.

Serger is frozen, how to fix #634D Janome My Lock

Are the cloth plate and front looper covers fully closed? some machines have safety cutout on these for obvious reasons.

Check this firstly.

Can you hear the engine humming?

If yes, but no movement when you press the foot pedal, then it is possible that a gear inside the main drive area has failed. Try manually turning the flywheel towards you, if there is no movement from the loopers and needles then this is likely.

Take it to the dealer.

Letture leaf edging

From "Serge With Confidence" by Nancy Zieman:

Set the machine up for a 3-thread rolled edge. Normal width; length 1 - 2.

Use Woolly Nylon in the loopers & regular thread in the needle.

Lock or disengage the cutting blade.

Guide fabric along the right edge of the presser foot.

Stretch and equal amount from fron to back while serging.

Lower the differential feed, if available to about 0.6.

Serge at a slow to moderate speed.

Practice with scraps first.

After serging, gently stretch & release the fabric edge after serging.

I BOUGHT A USED JAMONE SERGER MY LOCK 634D . I DON'T HAVE AN USERS MANUAL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO THREAD IT

Here is a manual - http://ifixmachines.com/Janome-Model-634D/View-all-products.html

The thread guide should be inside the door.

Lift the antenna and presser foot. Turn the tensions to zero, if possible.

Turn the handwheel so the upper looper is at the highest point - there may be a mark on the side of the serger to align with a mark on the handwheel.

Begin threading from the right to the left, beginning with the lower looper.
