On most phones, a red light indicates a message in voicemail. You need to press the MESSAGE button and follow the instructions on pages 4 and 5 of this reference manual. https://downloads.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100130184
You can page FROM the phone if you have the page access code. That code comes from the system the phone is attached to. You can't page TO the phone as it's a single line set. Generally, in a Magix or Legend system it was the trunk access code 8xx. We used 815 primarily, but your code may be different. In a Partner system, it's *70 IIRC.
1. I added the buttons "next", "msg-retr" and "delete-msg" 2. On the IP Phone, press "msg-retr", "next" and then "delete-msg" 3. Do it for every single message to turn off the light 4. Smile!
Another person in your office could of mistakenly turn your message light on. To turn off your message light press feature 10 then your extension number (feature 10 xx).
Is that phone an extension of a hunt group? It could be getting messages from the hunt group. Reboot the voicemail computer, that might reset the light.
The solid light on B could be that the handset is offhook.
When a call rings in, the message light can be set to flash as well as the light will flash next to the a (or b ) button that the call is ringing in on.
