RV A/C blower not working and keeps kicking out

When I turn the unit on I can hear the compressor working and after maybe 30 seconds the unit kicks out... It attempts to start again after a few minute cycle but kicks right out again... It is a 13,500 duo therm single system...

Thanks for the info... That is exactly what I did after submitting my question and if is now working fine... I do appreciate your time in responding and I did remove the cover but wanted to check everything not knowing for sure that a simple spin would do it...

If blower not working, and yoou hear a slight "Hum" with fan only on, try this. With power off to AC. Go up on roof, and slide a stick through opening on side near rear, and try to get to fan blades at rear of unit. try to spin the blades a few times, even if it only goes a little at a time. Unless you want to take all those screws out & remove cover to get at it better, but watch for wasps under there. Give fan a couple of full rotations, then have someone turn it on to fan only & see what happens. If fan finally works, let it run for a few minutes on fan, then try cool & see if it all comes together again. Let me know.

A/c runs cool for about 20 minutes and then does not cool anymore. keeps running but does not cool.

Is the compressor still running or has it kicked out? The normal problem is that the unit is low on freon and the compressor is not cooling because of this. If the compressor is kicking off an feels hot to the touch but the inside coil is sweating when the compressor kicked off the compressor is going bad. On an outside chance the thermostat can be going out if you turn it to off or all the way down you should hear an audible click and again when you turn it up normally its good if the click is audible. good luck

I turn it on (montana 5th wheel) and it sounds like it's tryin to kick in the compresor that is and the fan comes on and the compressor tries to kick in about every 30 seconds but cannot?? it's about 4...

The compressor is trying to start and cannot because it is broken inside and will need to be replaced. The compressor can be replaced by most anyone that is familiar with working on home central air conditioning units. I have replaced a few compressors for units like yours. Have a professional check it out. It could just be the start capacitor, but usually it is not.

Unit won't turn on

WHEN A COMPRESSOR FIRST STARTS TO RUN THERE IS AN INITIAL HIGH STARTING CURRENT(30 AMPS PLUS),BUT THIS SHOULD DROP BACK DOWN TO RUNNING CURRENT PRETTY QUICKLY.IF IT MAINTAINS THIS HIGH STARTING CURRENT FOR A WHILE THEN THIS GENERALLY INDICATES THE COMPRESSOR AT FAULT,BUT!!!!! ALSO CHECK TO SEE IF THE FAN IS NOT SEIZED. DISCONNECT THE FAN ELECTRICALLY THEN RUN THE UNIT. IF THE STARTING CURRENT MAINTAINS APPROX 6 AMPS THEN THE FAN IS AT FAULT!........HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Compressor on my RV coleman ac unit bogging down

Take a look at your start capacitor. This the capacitor that kicks the compressor over when it tries to start. If the capacitor is bad, it cannot kick the compressor back over after the first cycle because the head pressure has not evened out yet. It is located in the upper unit on the side panel in a small box. Be careful, highly charged capacitors can zap you if you are not careful. Disconnect power and touch across the terminals with a meter or a screwdriver to discharge the capacitor.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

AC does not cool. Compressor kicks on and off (Humms when trying to start, electrical smell)

There are a couple possibilities:

1. If this is the first time you've started them for the season, one of the compressors might be seized up from sitting over the winter. In which case, new compressor required.

2. If you've just had the compressor serviced including recharging the system, it's possible that the system is simply overcharged. This will stop the compressor from working and giving you the same symptoms as above. If this is the case, you should have the service people come back with some guages and recover some of the refrigerant and the compressor should be fine.

3. If the unit has been sitting and there is a slow leak then there is not enough pressure in the system to allow it to run. The compressor will shut down if there is not enough pressure, but since you say there is a smell, i really doubt this is the case.

Most likely it's #1 or #2 above. If you haven't had it serviced recently, then yeah, it sounds like you're in need of a new compressor.

Good luck.
