My nokia 5220 has a problem on diplaying messages.

Pull the battery out. Leave the phone for 5 minutes and put it back in.

The phone should start again no problem.

Perform a "restore factory settings" by dialling *#7780# and providing your security code when prompted. It'll be the default 12345 unless you've changed it.

This operation won't have erased any data of yours but it will have reset the phone's settings so you'll have to set up your theme, ringtone, wallpaper etc. again.

If the phone exhibits the same behaviour again then you'll have to take it back where you bought it because it could well be faulty in this case.

Save your data ,and then type the following after removing your memory card.

*#7370#

It'll restore your phone.

Also, formatting your memory card through your computer, after saving the necessary data will also clear reqistry and other files

try first deleting or erasing some of your stored messages, example sent items or inbox old items.
you can also try erasing received file or moving them to the mmc location.
also you can restore the phone factory settings, by going to settings and select restore or reset factory setting, but before doing that, be sure to BACKUP all your needed data.

5220 is a baseband 5 unit of nokia ,an express music phone...since its so many function like music player,video etc,its software is very sensitive...that trouble cannot fix by any reset code ,formatting ,hard reset or factory setting...you need to go to a nokia care center or expert mobile technician to reprogram your cellphone by an appropriate software because that phone cannot be DOWNGRADED ...thanks for trusting fixya ,i hope it will help you..
