My properties don't have a service tab

My 6210 OfficeJet is chopping the sentences in half, lenghtwise. Every other sentence. Help!!

  • nelifern96 Jul 17, 2009

Thank you very much for your help. I couldn't perform your suggestion immediately because I HAD TO FINISH a few documents for my mortgage company. Couldn't wait and drove to my daughter's house to finish my work.
I did follow your suggestion as soon as I came back and although it didn't fix it 100%, the blurry lines are less and much less noticeable. I'll be purchasing a new cartridge and hopefully that'll do it. At least I learned to use the HP Director.

Thank you, guys. By the way, I do like to help myself, that's why I contacted you, but I had to follow the priority principle. Thanks again.

    Nellie

Very helpful. The cleanup went through very well and I'll be purchasing a new cartridge as soon as this one finishes.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver? You can download latest driver from this link.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=421991&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
Also how are the ink levels in the cartridges? Once you reinstall the printer. Try performing the cleaning maintenance. Do this by going to printers and faxes in control panel. Right click the printer and select properties. Then click the services tab. Perform a cleaning and see if that helps. If you still have issues then you may need new ink cartridges or the printer may need to be serviced. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
Thanks,
Lee

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers or the ink cartridges, or both would be even better. As far as servicing there should have been a tab but here are the exact steps from HP.

  • Open the Printer Toolbox . There are two ways to do this:

    • Open HP Director , select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox .

    • Open Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel , then right-click your printer icon and choose Properties . Click Printing Preferences . Click the Services tab, then the Service This Device icon.

  • These are the only 2 ways to do this. So if your missing the full software. As I recommended I would go to the site and download the latest software/drivers for your operating system from the link I gave you. Reinstall and go from there. If you have the HP director then perform service on the device. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

    Thanks,
    Lee

    Thanks,

Is it just not printing those areas and so lines are forming? Try replacing the ink cartridge first and see if that fixes the problem. Let me know how this turns out.

    Vertical alignment

Usually this is asked when the printer is using more than one page of paper to print what the word processor shows as 1 page. This is fixed in the word processor program print set up module that opens when you click Print.
If you really want to change the vertical alignment of the print heads, then you need a different printer.

My HP Officejet 6210 All-in-One keeps rejecting my color cartriges. I am willing to just print in Black, but it blocks all print jobs. Any ideas on how to by-pass the color cartrige block?

uninstall the software by going into add/remove programs. Then look at the color cartridge and make sure its an original HP cartridge and not one of the 3rd party type of color cartridges. Try to use originals if you can so you don't run into the printer rejecting them.

With the operating system clean of the software go thru the steps in this guide to make sure everything is being installed properly:

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00238458.pdf

This will make sure that the cartridges are installed and that the software is being reinstalled so nothing is corrupted.

If the printer is still blocking print jobs or rejecting cartridges then you know that its either a printhead problem or a main board issue, either way you would have to get the printer replaced.

HP printer not printing entire document

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
    Hope this helps. Bud

    Printing

Did you install correctly your printer?

If not you can get the printer drivers thru HP website (www.hp.com)

If you have and antivirus program, try disable the same a few minutes and try again to print.
Usually the AV program doesn't allow a communication between your computer and your printer.
If this is your case, set a rule on your antivirus to allow use your printer.

Let me know how it is going!

    This will fix your problem.
