Check the Sound properties in the PC Control Panel, and ensure that input settings are enabled. There may be several options there, but one will activate the sound.

The sound enters the PC through the 'line' input audio connection. In the audio panel controls, ensure that the line input is enabled, and the gain is not zero.

No sound out of right main when watching DVR/TV or VHS

When watching TV or VHS the sound should be stereo and therefor come out of the the 2 front speakers. I suspect you now have sound out of the left front and the center speaker which indicates you connected the center speaker to the right front speakerterminal and the right front to the center terminal.

Just check if all speakers are connected to the correspondent speakerterminal.

If this is correct and the problem persists, try to connect another speaker to the right front terminal to see of the terminal or speaker is not working properly. If another speaker does work on the same connection, your right speaker might be damaged which might not be heard when listening to 5.1 because of the surround sound.

Can't record audio

I have converted home videos on my PC this way. I have a Sony camcorder whose output connects
to my firewire card in the PC. I also use windows Movie maker. While it is recording, I don't hear the audio. After saving the file and playing it back, I hear the audio, along with seeing the movie. Windows movie maker allows me to stop, start, and record the movie. It has complete control over the
Sony camcorder by using the firewire port on the PC.

I talked to someone who is a professional video editor, and he suggested the first thing to try was to change the USB port to which the DVD Maker was connected. This wasn't something which would ever have occurred to me, but hey presto it worked! Aparently USB ports are sufficiently delicate in terms of video transfer that they will work with normal devices, but some may not work well for video. I hope this helps someone else.

Daewoo dvd install

  1. Be sure that your VCR is a newer one with at least one "line in" set of jacks in the back. Some have one in the back and one in front.
  2. Your DVD Player should have a video/sound cable with 3 connectors on each end. Otherwise get one or 3 single cables.
  3. Connect DVD Video Out to VHS Video In (yellow).
  4. Connect DVD Left to VHS Left (white).
  5. Connect DVD Right to VHS Right (red).
  6. Turn on your DVD and VHS.
  7. Your VHS should have a tuner setting for "L1" or "L2". Select whichever shows the DVD's video on the TV.
  8. Remember to select that input channel whenever you want to watch the DVD.
  9. When watching a DVD, if you have a blank VHS in the VCR, you may record what you are watching onto the VHS, just as if you were recording from cable.
Verify these steps and you should be good to go ;)
