It sounds like the motor drive belt under the motor cover is slipping, remove the cover and check the belt tension.

Belt on treadmill is moving towards the right and bunching up

you need to adjust the travel of belt. to do this you need a allen wrench that came with it. if you have it run treadmill at slow speed,go to the rear right at the right end cap there is a hole, use the allen wrench and unscrew slowly while watching the belt until returns to the middle. if it slips when walking go back to rear and adjust by screwing in one turn on each side until belt wont slip.

Belt skips when weight goes on. It squeaks and

* take nail polish or paint and place a mark starting on the front roller pulley and going onto the front roller metal shaft
* then try to walk on it and see if the white mark separates
* if it does then the roller is bad and would need replaced or tap screws placed through the pulley into the metal shaft to hold it in place
* if it doesn't separate then the drive belt is slipping and most likely will need replaced, although you could try spraying belt dressing on it to see if that would be a temporary fix.
* if neither of these is your problem and the walk belt is slipping then you will need to try to adjust the screws in the back of the treadmill through the end caps. these are allen wrench screws.
Tighten each one the same amount such as 1 full turn to start with.
see if you can now walk without it slipping.
If not then tighten 1-2 more turn on both sides.
If after 2-3 full turns it is not tight enough
I would recommend replacing the walk belt.

Hopefully this helps with your problem!

I have an old craftsman belt sander that needs oil because the engine has started smoking. I bought the right oil, but can't figure out where to put it in. Help?

Many belt sanders have sealed bearings that are packed with grease at the factory. They require no further lubrication. Sleeve bearings should be lubricated with 30 weight oil or an equivalent after each 10 hours of use.

Only about 2 to 3 drops of oil should be applied to each sleeve bearing. Avoid using too much oil. It can get on the work piece or on the belt and the belt will slip.

Belt stops when i walk on it

with item going 2mph, stand on foot rails, hold on handles, with one foot try stopping walking belt-look at front roller while doing this-if walking belt slips around frt roller, its the walking belt loose. at each corner there is an adjustment, with proper allen wrench, turn CLOCK WISE one turn EQAULLY on each side!! Then recheck, keep doing this untill it quits slipping-Small moves is best don't crank.
Now on other hand if walking belt Stops with frt roller, its the MTR dr. belt under the hood, to tighten, with 2 9/16th wrenchs, I loosen mtr mount bolt, with one hand apply pressure to mtr, retighten, or have wife apply this pressure with her foot, but don't over tightn-u want to turn belt 1/4-1/2 inch on side. Also check walking lube under walking belt!!

Changing the alternator, can't get the belt to release

Get you a breaker bar and socket wrench.  Put the socket on the big bolt holding the tensioner.  The tensioner applies the correct amount of tension on the belt.  Apply pressure to the right and left to see which direction releases pressure off of the belt.  Once you figure that out, you can apply just enough pressure on the tensioner to slip the belt off.  Get you a little corn oil and put a little on the pulleys to make taking the belt off, but make sure you clean that mess up before installing the new belt.  You might need help unless you got four hands or can use your feet to pull the belt off while your applying pressure on the tensioner.

Trouble with serpintine belt

If this is the 3.8L, then can be very difficult. Take a look and see if the belt runs around the motor mount, if this is the case, I would recommend taking to a shop to get them to do it. It involves hoisting the engine to remove the motor mount. If not it is a breeze, just put a rachet on the idler arm which gives tension to the belt, you then release tension and the belt just slips off, then place the new belt in the same fashion it came off. there should be belt diagram on the front of the car by the radiator. I hope this is helpful.

How do you put the serpentine belt on? From underneath?

For the 3.8 liter engine, to install the belt, use a 14 mm straight wrench with a
breaker pipe (I use a jack handle) slipped over the wrench to extend the
reach and create more torque. Route the belt on all the pulleys except for the
top right pulley (alternator?) while holding the belt in position with 1 hand,
loosen the tensioner with the wrench and pipe combo until you can create enough
slack in the belt to slip the belt on the last pulley. Remove your tools. Job done.

Belt stops as soon as any weight is applied.

This is caused by one of three problems. First and most likely, the walking belt is loose. To tighten the belt, start by locating the two bolts that adjust the rear roller (one on each side of the unit in the back). Run the unit at about 3 mph. Tighten the bolts a 1/4 turn at a time. Make sure that what you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side or the belt will get off center. After you tighten it 1/4 turn, check the belt to see if it is still slipping. If it is then tighten the belt 1/4 turn again. Continue until the belt does not slip, but do not tighten the bolts more than 2 full turns. If it takes more than 2 turns then something else is the problem. The second problem that it could be is the drive belt might be loose. To tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down. The third problem that it could be is the walking belt could be worn and need to be replaced. Let me know if you have any questions.
