I had a friend who was a repair guy who often had calls from an office where somebody would tell him they had spilled tea or coffee or a soft drink on something that ceased to work. His first question was "did it have sugar in it?"

If the drink didn't have sugar it was worth trying to resurrect it but if the drink was sugared it would be more economic to write it off.

In Sweden it's fine. In the UK I understand that this is a bad idea due to using different cisterns for different faucets or something like that. In some countries, you shouldn't drink tap water at all.
Simply put it depends on where you live, as do almost all these types of questions so you have to mention where you live for anyone to be able to answer.

it wont work now that u have tried to turn it on because it will fry the chips inside if they have liquid on them and power goes through them,

just sqeeze the tabs on side of fuse cover and it will come off
