The Maytag MAH 9700 front loader washing machine has had a terrible out of balance problem on the spin cycle since day one. I have had 2 service companies look at it and neither can fix it. The first company changed out the circuit board per the On line Tech's request but that only masked the problem by slowing the spin cycle's RPM's and shortening the spin time. The clothes were so wet after the spin cycle you could wring a pint of water from a normal size bath towel. Which put the drying responsibility on the dryer and cost more electricity. I made them put the original board back in it. The second company did nothing except get the Tech support on line and they thought the drum may be warped and had me run thru the spin cycle without any clothes in it and it still vibrated but not as bad. It looked like the drum did have a little wobble to it which could be the problem but the on line Tech said without replacing the board again that it was a 5% chance the drum replacement would fix the problem. So Whirlepool is going to replace the machine; now, we will have a Maytag dryer and Whirlpool non matching washer. They no longer make this Neptune machine due to the recalls they had on them and I believe they are substituting a lesser quality machine for the Maytag Neptune.
