Washer Will not spin,Unbalanced

The Maytag MAH 9700 front loader washing machine has had a terrible out of balance problem on the spin cycle since day one. I have had 2 service companies look at it and neither can fix it. The first company changed out the circuit board per the On line Tech's request but that only masked the problem by slowing the spin cycle's RPM's and shortening the spin time. The clothes were so wet after the spin cycle you could wring a pint of water from a normal size bath towel. Which put the drying responsibility on the dryer and cost more electricity.
I made them put the original board back in it. The second company did nothing except get the Tech support on line and they thought the drum may be warped and had me run thru the spin cycle without any clothes in it and it still vibrated but not as bad. It looked like the drum did have a little wobble to it which could be the problem but the on line Tech said without replacing the board again that it was a 5% chance the drum replacement would fix the problem. So Whirlepool is going to replace the machine; now, we will have a Maytag dryer and Whirlpool non matching washer. They no longer make this Neptune machine due to the recalls they had on them and I believe they are substituting a lesser quality machine for the Maytag Neptune.

My bravo washer is not starting a cycle when I press start button. Also water is still in tub from last load that did not drain.

Sounds like you washer is trying to spin out and becoming unbalanced and cutting off.. Move timer to spin and see if water spins out. If so try running a load and say with it so if it becomes unbalanced you can arrange clothes before returning timer runs out.

Why does it always become unbalanced in spin cycle?

how confident are you to get inside it? Check the balance springs and shock absorbers.

Normally it is two simple things.

First the machine must be level front to back and left to right. Also all 4 feet must be in equal contact with the floor.

Make sure you load the washer evenly with clothes. Mix large and small items so when the spin starts the clothes even out. Never wash just one large item that is very absorbent, like one bathrobe or one blanket..

Washer is shaking while spining

Just from what you stated .If your cloaths are unbalanced it will wobble while in spin cycle,if its not unbalanced, Probily a broken spring, these units use 3-4 springs ,on the wash drum ,to keep them stable while in the spin cycle.

My machine will not run the spin cycles, and makes a very loud noise during the spin cycles, sounds like a bad motor or bearing?

I'm not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year man who has done his own washer repair for about 50 years. You might have a bad lid switch that keeps the washer from spinning. You might have an unbalanced load in the machine which makes the noise. The unbalanced load might also be the cause of not spinning.

Noisy Spin Cycle

hi there,

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping/or sound
during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and
redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
