Leave it plugged in for 2 days. It'll probably begin charging by then. If not, check connections. At the battery and the line.

I removed the batteries and individually charged them with a car battery charger. The first charge only lasted around 10 feet of travel. The second time I charged them up halfway with the car charger then put them back in the chair and finished charging them overnight with the charger that came with the chair. It lasted 400-500 yards or more. I hope it continues to improve

I purchased a Pronto 41 wheelchair and a Winsunny battery charger. The charger didn't have a manual so I'm wondering what the best procedure is for recharging the batteries. Do I need to turn the...

Joe See my tips on charging batteries No you don't have to leave the chair on when charging. Charge overnite after using it during the day. Always have the charger off when plugging it into the chair and unplugging from the chair. The charger you have doesn't have an on/off switch so get a power strip with the on/off switch, plug that into the wall and plug your charger into the strip use the switch on the strip to turn the charger on and off this will save you having to plug and unplug the charger rom the wall. Always store or put the chair up fully charged. If you don't use the cair daily charge at least once a week. It takes 9-10 chargings to get the batteries operating at 100% so use the chair and charge overnight while you sleep Never leave the charger on the chair more than 12 hours Hope this helps you

My uncle left my hoveround chair out in the rain is this the end of my chair? when i plug in the charger the light on the charger lights up green but the chair wont come on

Angel the charger light should only turn green when the chair is fully charged. If you know the chair isn't fully charged then there is a problem with the charging system. if the circuit board in the joystick got wet then that is a serious problem. If you have a voltmeter you can check the battery voltage thru the charging port located under the front of your joystick Set the meter to 200 volts dc and plug the leads into the 2 outter holes of the charger port. Fully charged you should read 27-30 volts if you aren't getting any reading then the batteries are completly dead or there is a problem with the charging circuit (the reason you are getting a green light on the charger) The joystick will have to be replaced sorry If Medicare paid for your chair then they will pay 80% of the repair costs to get your chair working again If they did contact Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to get it fixed thru Medicare Hope this helps

When I plug it in to charge the red and amber lights stay lit and the green flashes and if i move the joystick everything is backwards push forward goes backwards left is right. b4 when it was plugged in...

sounds like a charger inhibit problem. Whenever you charge your chair the charger inhibit shuts down the chair so it can't be moved while charging. If you are getting this then that function is not working. Lets try this if you know of someone who has a chair or scooter with an off-board charger see if you can borrow it. Plug the off-board charger into the charger port located under the front of the joystick (don't have the on-board charger plugged in) and then turn the charger on. turn the chair's power on and you hopefully will see the lights blinking again indicating a charger plugged in (charger inhibit) the lights on the charger should be red and yellow (yellow turning green when fully charged) If you still get the problem with the off-board charger then your problem is in the controller or power module and this requires a new one. If Medicare paid for your chair you can call Repair Xpress @ 1-877-81-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to have them fix it for you and bill Medicare for most of the repair costs. Hope this helps you

How do i charge the battery

Carla Under the front bottom of the joystick you will see a charger port its a three pin port that accepts the plug from the charger. Always plug the charger into this port with the charger off or not plugged into the electircal socket. Then plug the charger into the electical socket or turn it on. You should see a red light and a yellow light on the charger. When the tellow light turns green the batteries are charged. You should get into the habit of charging the batteries each night if you use the chair daily. Just plug in the charger when you go to bed and turn it off when you get up. If you only use the chair a little then always store it fully charged and then charge it once a week if it hasn't been used. Hope this helps you

My husband's powered wheelchair has not been used for sometime due to illness. I had charged it up without using it, but the last time the power appears to be going through the charger -green light on, but...

Nick yes I would say that the batteries are too low for the charger to pick up and charge thats why you are getting the green light. If Medicare purchased the chair then they will pay for repair you can contact the provider that sold you the chair and ask them to come out and repair the chair or you can call Repair Xpress @ 1-877-581-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to have it repaired Hope this helps you

How do I know when the chair has charged? I see one red, two green, two yellow lights on.

If you have an off-board charger that plugs into the joystick there are two lights on the charger one red(power on) and the other yellow (turns green when fully charged). Plug it into the chair and if the light is green then you have fully charged the batteries. Now if you have the on-board charger the charger meter on the rear of the chair will resd zero when fully charged. Hope this helps ya

Battery doesn't charge

When you connect the charger, if the light goes to red to green within a few minutes and the battery power does not last more than 1-2 hours or less, it may indicate that that the batteries will not take a charge anymore and need to be replaced. This can happen if the power chair has not been charged in a while or has been stored. Having the chair on or off while charging will not affect the charging process, but you ususally want it to be OFF.
Good luck!

The wheelchair does not come on or light up at all. When I put t

Your batteries have shorted out internally. If you have a 2/10 Amp car battery charger, you may be able to bring them back to life like so...

- Switch the charger to 2 Amps
- if your chair uses two 12V batteries, connect the car charger across only one of them. If it uses four 6V batteries, connect across two. Be sure to match red to plus and black to minus!
- plug in the charger and watch the Ammeter meter. If it "pegs" and won't come down, the battery is toast. If it goes down to aboult half, you are on your way.
- When the meter gets down to about 1/4, switch to 10 Amps. The meter will again go up.
- When the meter drops to about 1/4 again, the battery is charged,
- Repeat above for the next battery.

This process will take several hours per battery. You don't have to remove the batties from the chair. However, it would be a good idea to do so in case a battery fails.

Good Luck !
