Question about Dehumidifiers

Royal Sovereign Bucketless Dehumidifier that is not running

We have a Royal Sovereign Bucketless Dehumidifier purchased in April of this year. The Full light came on and now the dehumidifier won't don't on. If I disconnect if from the power source, it runs for a minute and then shuts down. I verified that the drain hose is not crimped. I am afraid that the pump is not functioning. Any ideas on what I can do to get it running again?

I have had the exact same problem with my RS dehumidifier and I can tell you what the problem is not. I tried replacing the pump because I had surmised (incorrectly) that it had failed and that is why the water tray was filling up and shutting off the dehumidifier. I had also checked to see if the pump would pump water, which it would not. After scouring the internet for days and finally deciding just buying the pump itself was not an option (I was not going to spend $48 for the pump from RS since this one only lasted about a year and from what I have seen I was lucky) I decided to buy a fog machine($20 at walmart) and use the pump out of it. Spliced it in and IT WORKED GREAT. It pumped the water out and shut off when the tray was empty...just like it should. Then it turned the pump back on and off about every 3-5 seconds. After much more trial and error (more error than anything) I thought I had it figured out. When I wiped out the water tray, to the point where it was dry, the pump would not turn on until the water reached the wires. It would pump out the water and shut off the pump. AWESOME...problem solved. It then started the pump up again and it cycled about every 3-5 seconds. This would eventually burn this pump as well. The only thing left is that the control board, or some component on it, in this hunk of junk is bad. If anyone can figure out the issue with the dehumidifier wanting to turn the pump on when there is no water in the tray that would be great. I completely wiped down the tray and removed the scale build up to eliminate the possibility of that completing the circuit between the two wires.

If there is a valve make sure it is open.

Remove the hose and see if there is anything blocking it.

Remove the hose and see if there needs to be a hole drilled into the fitting on the dehumidifier.

make sure the hose is down from the dehumidifier so the water can flow out of it.

I have a Royal Sovereign BHD 450 dehumidifier. I moved and I do not know how to install the hose into the unit. It looks like it goes into a place in the bottom of the unit. The online manuals I found do...

Yes, there should be a screw out plug for the drain hole on the lower left. If the plug is not in there, the you will have water all over the floor. Unless, you can find the drain cap for it. The auto drain hose connection is about 6" above the manual drain hole, I just mentioned. That is where the auto drain hose connect. It's held in place by a squeeze clamp, that goes on the hose before making the connection. But, keep in mind, with out the drain hole screw in plug, water will still spill onto the floor.

If you can't find it, try Appliance Factory Parts 1-800-955-7075. As they may can help you.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa

Says full, wont auto pump even if i push pump button or plus and unplug. also disconected drain tube in case blocked and still did pump with it removed.

Same exact problem. If you unscrew the back, the pump is on the lower left side. Two screws hold it in place. If you remove the pump cover, you will like notice that it smells of burnt electronics. A replacement pump can be found here:

Running, but no water coming out. Is forming ice

Your machine has a sealed system leak and is low on freon. Read your owners manual and there should be a 5 year sealed system warranty. If so you will need your purchase receipt and call an authorized LG dealer for an exchange.

Royal sovereign DDH400C not working

You haven't specified your location so I don't know what domestic power plugs look like in your neck of the woods. I'm in Scotland. If there is a replaceable fuse in the power plug I would check that, and any screws that secure the wire ends to the plug terminals.

There is a microswitch in there somewhere which is triggered by the bucket being correctly installed and not full. If that isn't happy then the machine probably wont run.

There's a couple of things to start with.
If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my guessing skills :-)
If they do not, please add a comment with more details so I can try to help you further. Cheers, D
