Gateway/MPC e295c tablet powers off without warning

I have a Gateway/MPC e295c tablet that was running fine for a week now since purchase. In one day however it powered off completely on its own three times. There was little/no warning other than whatever application that was running slowed or froze for half a second, then all LED indicators go black and the machine powers off. Pressing the power button starts it back up with no issues and I get no error messages, but this has happened 3 times in one day. I'm running Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005. Any suggestions for a cause & solution?

I tried running it without the battery and the same thing happened. I don't yet have another adapter but am planning to get one soon to rule this out also. I'd planned to upgrade the 80GB hdd and have purchased a larger one that should be here tomorrow.

One thought while I'm waiting: I ran an anti-virus scan earlier today and after more than an hour it didn't turn off; normally it did so after only about 30-40 mins. The fan was running and I could feel very warm air being pushed out, so I wonder if an overheating issue could prompt the tablet to power off? If so, what could remedy this?

EDIT: I should mention, when it didn't turn off earlier during the anti-virus scan, I had it connected to a laptop fan and the Gateway rested on that the whole time; I didn't notice any significant warming.

try running the tablet without the battery hooked up and only the ac adapter giving it power. If the laptop stops shutting down on its own then that means the battery is shorting out the motherboard and the battery needs to be replaced. If the laptop is still shutting down on its own then try a diffferent known working adapter without the battery being hooked up. it it still shuts down then I would suggest trying a different hard drive cause you said things would start running very slow before shutting down. That would mean reinstalling the operating system, drivers and othe programs you need on that laptop.

I am also having the same issues with my E-295c tablet as well. Were you able to figure out what your problem is? I thought mine may have been my port replicator, but it continues after removing that. And mine always seems to do it for sure everytime I have a full screen video playing. Thanks!

Why does my nook turn off at as soon as its turned on and it drains my battery when its off

The battery drains while the item is off, on laptops, tablets, and flashlights. ANYTHING with a battery will do this.
Your device is low on power. Charge it for a day and it should be workable.
The longer you let it go without a charge, the worse your battery will be. (You cannot overcharge it.) Some have to get a new device because they let it go a few weeks without a charge.
You should charge it every week.

I cannot get on my wifi it tells me security warning I have played this all day now it tells me this

Greetings... Im not sure what is giving you the security warning message? Is it your INTERNET Wireless gateway or is it the Tablet ?
If u go into the Settings tab..then down to wireless on right side of screen is a scan icon. If u run the scan do u see your wireless connection? IF not u need to have the SSID for ur wireless device. Then make sure u have the correct password and premission to access this device.
Then be sure to make sure the airplane and VPN settings under your wireless settings are correct.
If your trying to connect to wireless while in USB connection to a computer.. sometimes the DEBUG mode can cause errors too.
If this fails try resetting the tablet with the port on back and your wireless device to.
If still have problems repost to this post and ill follow it and see if we can get u fix

After runnig on battery power it powers off

Obviously its a battery problem
Usually happens on old batteries.
A new replacement will fix this problem.
Usually a healthy baterry should last between 1 to 2 hours...some models even give you 4 hours working time.

Gateway M1300 tablet pc will not charge in the

Question 1: Will the tablet operate on the docking station (or power cord) without the battery in place?

If not, the power circuit on the tablet motherboard is broken.

Question 2: If you plug in the power cord into the tablet, is the connection "loose"?
Check the other tablet to see if it is the same loosness at the tablet power connector.

If it is loose, the power receptical in the tablet can be soldered back onto the motherboard.

Recommend taking it into a shop to re-solder.
If under warranty, get it repaired.
If not under warranty, your choice if you want to use it they way it is.

Hope this helps...

Toshiba without battery

1. If the batteries are dead then there's no way that you can charge them again. You're better off purchasing a new one. You can purchase one online by visiting the ToshibaDirect website or by calling them on 1-800-316-09202.

2. Yes, you can use the power cords to run the computer. Just plug them in using the power cords even with the batteries removed and it should work fine.

3. Yes you can but you might experience some current fluctuations. This is negligible on a CMOS battery though.
