Question about Sanyo Cameras

1 Answer

I own a one-year-old Sanyo VPC-5880 digital camera. It is equipped with two fresh Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries. The problem began when I would get a much delayed flash when taking pictures with a flash or the picture would be taken after the flash showed. Now, I get no flash at all. The camera takes the picture if there is enough light, but there is a long delay between the time when I push the button and the time that the flash (when I had a flash) appeared and now the delay is between my clicking the button and the time when the picture is actually taken. So, I end up with pictures in which the subjects (especially children) have moved etc.

This will describe how, if you have been using a speedlite alot, than the little tab under the shutter release side of the hot shoe can get bent down thus constantly pressing down (toward the bottom of the camera) the small button which deactivates the pop up flash even when the speedlite is not attached. Just bend the tab up a little with a jewler's screwdriver, turn the camera off and on . pushing the tab down, but on the xti cameras , the tab needs to be bent up to release the flash deactivation switch and fix the problem. --------------- as as you said the pics are bit moved is due to lens not set properly or the lens is dusty or the lens is faulty.this has to be confirmed and checked.the flash button also has inner circuit on the camera circuit board.if the pop up button is proper then the other possibility will be the circuit problem.that has to be checked and repaired. thanks.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.

Camera says batteries low, replace

Make sure you are using fresh batteries when you are replacing them. If you are using rechargeable batteries, let them charge until the indicator light on the base unit turns green. If the indicator light on the base unit flashes red, the batteries are no longer good.
Cheap batteries form dollar stores (Sunbeam, or store brand name) do not last long, and digital point and shoots eat up those types in a few uses. Best to use Duracell or Energizer batteries for Cameras. They dont have to be Lithium, or digi camera specific batteries. Those are expensive and unnecessary. Basic Duracell or Energizer will do.

The VPC-S770R uses standard AA batteries. Chargers for rechargeable AA batteries should be available at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store. Do NOT try to recharge non-disposable alkaline or lithium batteries. Also bear in mind that the camera itself is not a battery charger. If you want to use rechargeable batteries then they must be charged outside the camera using a separate battery charger.

My camera is showing battery exhausted when i turn on the nikon camera i purchased a new battery and am still getting the same problem

You can try using Lithium batteries (Energizer Ultimate Lithium) instead of an alkaline battery. If you are using brand new, high-power batteries and are still getting this message, there may be a short or some defect within the camera itself that is causing the batteries to drain unnecessarily fast.

Sanyo VPC-S1080 turns on and

See if the menu has a battery type setting. Some cameras have the ability to use different battery types (alkaline, Ni-Cad, Lithium, ect) and have power management presets to accurately indicate a low battery condition. If you are set to one type an install another, a false reading would result.

Flat Batteries

I've turned many of my customers into users of the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries. Many people who have been ready to throw their camera away find the Energizers fix all their problems. Make sure to get the Energizer Ultimate Lithiums, as there are some lower output Energizers available too.

No power despite fresh batteries

If it's less than a year old, it's still under warranty. Exercise that warranty and contact Canon support.
