Prints half page

Printing half a page with an Inkjet machine is not normally a computer issue. So windows 10 would not normally have any effect on the printing for a printer that has been accepted by the Windows 10 Operating System. If there was an issue in the software it would be printing gibberish or not printing at all.

Printing half a page is quite possably something stuck in the printer stopping the ink from getting to that half a page if it is printing down once side but not the other.
Printing half a page being that the top half is printed but not the bottom half (Or the other way around) it could be an air bubble in the feed line which can be cleared with a printhead clean or two.
Printing half a line rather than a full line such as the top half of each letter is clear but the bottom half of each letter is not visable is a blocked printhead. A couple of printhead cleans can also fix this.
Also check to see if the printer is not confused and actually has empty cartridges even if the printer thinks they are full. Brother printers can easily get confused about ink levels. If the cartridges are actually empty, replace them and away it should go again.

Hope that helps

Printing with horizontal dark lines

Did the dark lines start after the change? If so, maybe the drum on one of the cartridges is damaged. (Since you mentioned dark, I'd suspect the black cartridge.) Try replacing cartridges.

If that doesn't fix it, you can send it in for repair if it's under warranty. If it's outside warranty, I'd probably just replace it, unless you want to learn a lot about the innards of a laser printer.

Alignment off

Try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Open the printer cover > remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > re-brick you printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in, and re-plug after 10 seconds. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

If that doesn't help, please try this approach:

  1. On your computer, go to Start menu.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark 2600 Series folder.
  4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.

From the Maintenance tab, select Align to fix blurry edges. Your printer will then print a page and aligning your print cartridges. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Cutting off lines and bottoms of letters

Try replacing the ink cartridge or putting tape on the cartridge where the ink comes out and rip it off so it doesnt block some of the printing.

There is very likely a few plugged print head on your black cartridge. The printer or its software should have some maintenance options to do a cleaning.

Otherwise, you would need to try a new cartridge to see if the problem reproduces itself or take a look inside. There are a few possibilities.

#1: Some dirt/dust/hair/etc... has gotten stuck under the print carriage and is blocking certain print heads, unlikely as you would get some spotching and messy prints.

#2: The contacts behind the cartridge either on the cartridge or in the carriage are dirty and blocked so the signal is not getting to some of the print heads.

#3: The trailing cable going from the engine board to the carriage is damaged and is causing some printheads not to fire.

#4: The engine board is faulty, unlikely since the printer still seems to print well.

The short answer is that it's not economical to repair the printer further than replacing the cartridge. If you're fairly certain the cartridge is clean or that a new cartridge won't or hasn't fixed the problem then it's time to replace your printer.

Have fun!

Black ink from new cartridge is missing lines

Try doing nozzle cleaning, hope fully this flushes the air bubbles trapped in the cartridges. Or try using this template which sometimes flushes out the inks.

Print result at 1st line ok..2nd line become blur..its alternate till end of printing

Replace the ink cartridge.
The cartridge is so wide that it can print 2 lines at a time, and the upper part of it is probably partially clogged. That's why every 2'nd line is blurred, and the rest is ok.
