Can you type in other files. like word, excel, notepad? if not then there's keyboard issue. you'll need to replace.

SOURCE: Cursor is frozen and can;t move on my laptop

Plug in a USB mouse, and go to Contol Panel>system>device manager and click on the +sign next to pointing devices. Right click touchpad and uninstall the touchpad, then reboot the computer, remove the usb mouse. Windows will pick up the touchpad as new hardware and re-install the drivers for it etc..

I hope this helps

SOURCE: moving cursor

Hi, sheila_sharp.

Please make sure you remove any dirt and/or fluid found on your touchpad. Even the tiniest grain of dirt may result in this. If you are using an external mouse, poor quality mice may cause this type of behavior.

SOURCE: My laptop is a Toshiba satellite and after i login a black screen

Hi there. If you've had the laptop under a year, then you can take it back to the place where you bought it, and they can take a look. If anything's wrong, then it can be fixed under the manufacturer's warranty, which is normally for 12 months from purchase.

One thing I'd like to ask, can you see anything behind the black screen? I ask this, as I had a friend who had similar problem, but it was a faint black, with the cursor flashing, and he could faintly see the desktop in the background. I was wondering if this was the same for you.

Skipping cursor problems

i was trying to assit my lacousin with her laptop "issues" and could not figure out how to stop the cursor from skipping around. when you start typing on her laptop the cursor has been known to:

move randomly while you're typing
highlights text and deletes it
jump all over the page

After doing many google searches, I was unsuccessful in finding a solution so I thought I'd post here. I have tried to make her touch pad less sensitive but nothing seems to work.
