Usually the product key is on the unit itself with official windows sticker. Otherwise it is inside the paperwork came with the pc. Contact the manufacturer and explain the situation and they can possibly find the product key for your computer or replace it with another product key.

Get the code from the person that sold you the pc
normally there is a small sticker attached to the pc with the details and code of the os installed
you should also have been given the cd with the os product key and all the details with the pc

If you got the computer new, they come with a trial version of antivirus and you have to purchase a full version. They normally come with only a 60 day trial of Nortons Internet Security. If you didnt buy an ativirus there is no code. You have a trial version and need to go buy one.

The computer ask for product key..... i bought a new laptop and the sales rep says ms office is already saved on my computer..
You need to tell the sales rep that you need the product installation code for MS Office 2007 and it was part of the package you purchased.
Ask for the installation MS Office CD the documentation and the product installation code, as well as the Windows installation CD and product installation code.
You will need these if you have to install these onto a new hard disk.

I just bought this brand spankin' new laptop and it has Vista on it... then the MS Office Home/Student 2007 and that kept asking me for a Product Key...
If you're asking for the serial key for MS Office Home / Student 2007, then we can't give it to you.

Legally, we have no proof that it came on the laptop, or that you bought it, so we must assume that you downloaded it. Thus, giving you the CD key could be helping you pirate software.

I'm sorry, I wish I could help, but legally, I can do nothing. If it DID come with the computer though, look through the papers and everything you got with the computer and you MAY be able to find the product key in there.

If the computer asks for a login password to a server then is was setup for an office network.
The best way to get the computer going is to do a clean Windows install. You need a Windows installation CD, the computer should have a Windows label which has the product installation code printed on it, make sure the Windows CD matches the version of Windows that is printed on the label. Otherwise you need to purchase a new Windows installation CD.

look at it this check the cd's if cd's came with the computer they usually put the codes on them for certain software that are bundled together lazy bastards.

or maybe they gave you a trial version of the software and your trial is up.

Ps check the manual too sometimes it is in their or the side or under the bottom of the pc
