There are two fault possibilities for this problem. Both are not user reapairable. The first one is of 'sled' motor. Sled motor is one that spins the DVD disc inside the DVD mechanism. If it fails to rotate the disc, the laser reading assembly cant get any signal from the inserted disc and will show "Reading" display on the front panel for a long time, and finally stops. The second one is of Laser Pickup Unit Assembly itself. If it has got damaged, there will be no laser beam to scan the DVD inserted, and the same thing as described above will occur. In both cases the final displauy will be "Open". To replace both items, you have to take its mechanism fully outside and to disassemble it. It is really a skilled work. It is best for you to get it repaired by any experienced service technician you know very well, or get it repaired by any authorised service centers. OK.

Panasonic DVD Player. Reads DVD then says HO7 and then STOP. PLAY DOES NOT PLAY

Common failure of the spindle motor/laser assembly. Also known as the traverse unit, which can cost more than a new player to replace. Not a consumer-repairable part.

My Samsung BD-P1500 keeps saying "No Disk." It won't play Blu-Ray or DVDs? Why?

Is it new? Then send it for warranty claim. Is it old? Warranty expired? Then send it for repair. U have an internal problem. Either with circuitry or with the pick up lens. Most cases if the power is there, then the issue is with the lens. In optical disc drives, lens is the main culprit which fails most of the time. Just in case if u don't know, pick up lens is what reads the cd/dvd/bluray through a laser.

DVD will not load The brand is Daewoo and the model is DG-K518N

Its time to service ur player. Your optical lens which reads the discs is either dirty or it needs replacement. clean it manually with lens cleaning tools or send it to local tech for repair.

Panasonic DMR-EH75V will not respond to remote, new batteries and new remote. Tried repeating setup can't proceed since unit not responding. Unplugged unit and tried again. When remote "enter"...

Hello Pamaral,
I have seen this problem a few times on the panasonic models and for some reason they fail quicker than they should. If your system is still under warranty you should send it in for service. If it is not, it would probably be a bit cheaper to go to a local repair shop and get an estimate as to the cost of replacing the defective IR sensor rather than sending it to panasonic where you will have to pay shipping and handling charges plus their parts and labor (which is like taking your car to a dealership for repairs and much more expensive than a local repair shop). Hope this helps and let me know if you need further assistance.

Panasonic dvd vhs burner model dmr-es30v

Hey scott10news,

According to your owners manual( Its showing SLF Check means there has been a power interruption and the system is attempting "restoring" itself.

Unfortunately, I had somewhat of a similar problem with my Panasonic DVDR. Every time i tried to record or finalize a disc it would just display recover and then shut off. The reason I say unfortunately is I had to send it out for service to be repaired, there appears to have been a problem where the unit was had become corrupted.

It might be necessary to bring the unit in for a diagnostic and/or estimate for repairs.

Wish I had better news.
