Your quesion is not clear and full.
I think:
you have problem when burning cd with Media Player 12.
Go to services in Control Panel > Administrative Tools or type and press enter services.msc at command prompt.

Enable the following service to Automatic mode and press start button:
IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service

Now log off / restart.

All that you gave us was that it is new & error code.... But you left out the most important fact.... What Make & Model

Fatal Error 5 is normally indicative of a Disk Failure. Because the OS can't read the portions of the drive.

I had a paper jam and removed the jammed papers. The paper jam cleared and then the Fatal Error 980 appeared. OKI C5500 printer
