Question about HP Mini 1140NR Netbook

1 Answer

I have a netbook (hp mini 1100) that has a problem. When the power cord is plugged in, I get intermittent static/crackling noises through the speakers and the sound gets messed up. HP tech support is trying to tell me its a driver issue, I know it has to be a hardware problem, but I don't know exactly what is causing it. If anyone can tell me so I can get HP to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Actually I can reinstall the original OS from a usb stick, thanks. I had to ship the netbook back to HP, it was a hardware problem. They repaired it under warranty, so I solved my own problem, thanks.

Unfortunately you will require an external dvd drive & the required software to do a reinstall of your SOE. this may require taking it to an auth HP agent for reimage. If the problem is still there you have defective or damaged speakers ( located in the front lower section of your screen ) if your still under warranty push hard even threaten full complaint to get the hardware rectified.

Nakamichi mini speaker has crackling noise as soon it is switched on

check

the speaker plug/outlets is usually at the back of the computer or if its a laptop on the side

you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make

sure the connection is good with no dust as dust causes static electricity

clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is

no MOISTURE in the air line or use a can of compressed air specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit

dust causes static to build up in a computer

hope this helps

Can't turn on my mini netbook inspirion - help

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous.

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

My HP 2610 copier is making a strange crackling noise which is new...what's causing this?

HI,

Perform a semi-full reset on the all-in-one by following the steps below

  1. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the all-in-one.
  3. Wait 30 seconds, and plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  4. Press and hold the # and 6 buttons on the numeric keypad.
  5. While still holding the buttons, plug the power cord back in to the all-in-one. Continue to hold the buttons for two seconds, and then release them
  6. Allow the all-in-one to re-initialize. This may take a minute or two.
  7. If prompts appear in the all-in-one display to set the front panel language and country settings, perform the steps to set this information.
Note - you can also try the Ok n cancel key combination in place of # and 6 .

u can also try the following steps >>

u can press set up on the printer > go to the tools option [ by pressing the down arrow key ] > press ok > go to clean print head , clean cartridge , allign printer > it will service the product .

The problem should be corrected. If the problem still exists, service your product.

Thanks

Static from right from speaker

The noise is in the pre-amp stages of the Denon AVR. It might be caused by bad capacitors.
